To Calgary:
Nick Leddy

To St. Louis:
Daniil Miromanov
Conditional 2026 5th/6th (if Leddy plays a certain number of games)

Calgary adds a veteran LHD to help with their playoff push and stabilize their second or third pair. St. Louis gets a younger RHD who has struggled this year but has some potential and a late pick in exchange for Leddy who has been out most of the year.

Don't really see the point here.
I was just looking around the Blues board and saw that many fans were wishing Leddy doesn’t come back this year to take a spot from a younger guy and figured you might want a reclamation project/late pick for him as opposed to healthy scratching him. Do you think Leddy has more value than that?

I think he's certainly available, but he's also not really blocking anyone right now, Lindstein isn't ready, and I don't think Miromanov would be of much interest.

I mean, I would do, mainly because I want the extra cap space. I just don't see a reason either team does it. Tho, Miromanov is a righty.

A healthy Leddy has significantly more value than that. Veteran dmen like him routinely go for a 1st or 2nd + at the TDL. If he's traded it will likely be this offseason at the earliest IMO.

What for on the extra cap space? I’m just not sure if the Blues will spend the extra cap space as currently constructed. I also don’t think the UFA market is the place to shop for them. The bucket they need to shop in is going to cause more term than preferred and probably end up being more of the same that we’ve been doing.

I don’t mind the idea of moving Leddy and I think it’s something they have to be considering. I just don’t think it’s something worth dumping him over, but at the end of the day it’s not really too big of a deal. He likely won’t return a 1st, id be pretty happy with a 2nd.

Yeah outside of the confusing Leddy injury situation I don't know what Miromanov does for the Blues. They would probably target a future pick or prospect with upside. Someone like Morin?

I don’t think Calgary would move significant futures for someone Leddy’s age, they shouldn’t at least

I don’t know what his value is tbh but I think OPs idea here is getting cheap help on the left side because our LD is atrocious right now with Bahl out. If Leddy isn’t cheap then the fit probably isn’t there

Suter is another that could make sense as an option. I'd probably look for equivalent of 3rd round value for either. Leddy's injury complicates his value, but if he was healthy, he'd get more. Depending on trade market, I could see a 2nd for Suter, but we'll see.

You consider Morin a "significant futures" He is an intriguing prospect but I comfortably have at least 5 other prospect ahead of him in the Flames pool.

Maybe that wasn’t the right term. Point is the flames aren’t in a spot to move picks or prospects for older players. They’re in a playoff spot but they aren’t contending. The Philly trade is fine as both guys are under 25 and might have some upside

Like I’d be okay with moving out a late pick for some LD help but nothing more. Really though they might as well try someone like Solovyov for what they’d be getting back for a 5th or whatever

LD is one of the weaker positions in our prospect pool too so wouldn’t be excited about subtracting from that

Fair enough, Morin has upside but he is definitely still a lottery ticket as far as NHL future goes. Leddy isn't going to bring back a haul but the Blues defense is already pretty brutal. We need an incentive to want to move a good depth piece (when healthy) and the OP doesn't really provide that.
