Calgary's development system has seen a surprising upswing in quality as many of their prospects continue to outperform their draft position.

The primary issue is that their system lacks centres of note outside of Kerins and Luke Misa, both of whom have significant questions about their ceiling or ability to play centre at the NHL level. With Wolf arriving, waiting to draft centre prospects is less feasible.

On the other hand, Calgary has a variety of quality winger, D, and Goalie prospects in system. Would any other team's that have depth at Centre in their system consider a swap to fill holes in their own system?

Notable prospects to potentially swap:

Defense:
Parekh (unlikely unless in exchange for a blue chip centre)
Mews
Bruzstewicz
Poirier
Morin

Wingers:
Basha
Gridin
Battaglia
Honzek
Suniev
Stromgren

Goalies:
Sergeyev
Zarubin
Yegor Yegorov (not actually a great prospect but that name is to good to exclude)

Montreal might be interested in Mews. What do you want from us?

Just look to draft them. Centres carry more value than other positions except maybe RHD. Especially if that centre you are looking to get is a right shot you will be giving up lots of value.

Flames don't draft until around 30th. Doubt you getting much of a center. Even if you did he's 5 years away.

We would currently hold the 23rd and 24th picks which makes a trade up scenario very possible. Additionally this draft specifically is center heavy in the 1st round.

Prospects swaps of this nature tend to be rare. It usually takes one unhappy prospect wanting out from somewhere to make this viable.

Plus, the Flames drafting has been excellent in the last few years. So yeah, keep the picks and maybe try for a trade up if possible.

The top C prospects are very rarely traded but targeting a guy like Miettinen or Minten could still be doable for Conroy. They have some good depth at the prospect level in all the other positions so even if the guy projects more middle 6 than top 6 is worthwhile.

How about Evans?

The 28 year old with 314 NHL GP?
That's not what a center prospect is.

Okay, instead we give you Kapanen and worse of our two first picks for Parekh?
