Why did San Jose trade for this guy last year? I know it's just a 7th but mind boggling move regardless
27 year old Devin Cooley is killing it in the AHL while playing for the Wranglers this year. In 12 games played he's tied for first in wins with 9, he has the best Sv% in the league at .953%, and is 2nd in the league with a 1.51 GAA.
My question is... is Cooley a late bloomer or is he just on a hot streak that includes his play in the Flames preseason?

I think they'd just trade VladarIf the Flames can't find room for him at the NHL level he'd make an interesting trading chip for the deadline. Somebody must be looking for an injury replacement or playoff insurance.
Either one is fine. Just grab the pick and throw it on the pile.I think they'd just trade Vladar

Right now, the Wranglers have a few players on their roster who made the Flames out of camp, so they are a pretty stacked squad.
Flames aren’t getting much for Cooley at the trade deadline unless he shows that he do something useful at the NHL level. If the Flames can't find room for him at the NHL level he'd make an interesting trading chip for the deadline. Then give the guy some games - he's obviously earned them. He's earned them. Audition the crap out of him and get something decent at the deadline.Flames aren’t getting much for Cooley at the trade deadline unless he shows that he do something useful at the NHL level.
He’s signed for 2 years. Flames are not going to trade him this year. Vladar is the UFA. He’s getting traded before CooleyThen give the guy some games - he's obviously earned them. He's earned them. Audition the crap out of him and get something decent at the deadline.
Flames are getting great goaltending from Dustin Wolf and good goaltending from Dan Vladar, so it doesn't make sense to call a guy up reallyThen give the guy some games - he's obviously earned them. He's earned them. Audition the crap out of him and get something decent at the deadline.
Not until they trade Vladar anyway.Flames are getting great goaltending from Dustin Wolf and good goaltending from Dan Vladar, so it doesn't make sense to call a guy up really

A pick to throw on the pile. Somebody will pay that for depth towards the playoffs. Which is how you run a rebuild.Huh?
You don't just trade everyone away. What exactly do you think the Flames will get for him?
