Maybe, Stralman waived to a tanking team. I think he may waive to Seattle personallyI get where the OP is coming from, but the problem is this, Monhan is easily bought out, and there's a good chance you could move Lucic, as he's owed less than $1 million in actual dollars. Toews is totally unmovable.
The Flames can probably get a way with moving both of Monahan and Lucic for a grab bag of lesser assets, giving them the whole $11 million or so in cap space. They don't need to dip into major assets like Zary and Ruzicka to only move $5-6 million in cap.
He's stated he wants to be close to home, and Seattle is the closest team to Vancouver, that's not the Canucks. Seems like a perfect fit. If he doesn't move, he's slipping down the depth chart, and Calgary is going to want to open up spots next year for Pelletier, Ruzicka, Zary, etc... It could been Lucic getting sent to the AHL, which would end his career.I strongly expect Lucic isn't waiving his NMC to play for a tanking team
He literally cant be sent to the AHL, he has a NMCHe's stated he wants to be close to home, and Seattle is the closest team to Vancouver, that's not the Canucks. Seems like a perfect fit. The bench then. Even worse for his career. It should also be noted that he already waived it to be exposed in the Seattle expansion draft. He literally cant be sent to the AHL, he has a NMC
