Cfl 2025

Nope. The only park and ride available is these places:

Football Park & Ride Lots

Note: The Stadium Park & Ride lot will also be closed 2 hours prior to the start of the games.

All Central North and West. Kinda stupid if you ask me.
Yeah, they used to have have a few more like Burns parking lot or Davies parking lot, but they've gradually disappeared with the dwindling attendance.

There also used to be a shit ton of park and ride offered by bars where they'd bus you to the game for a nominal cost that you could recoup if you went for a drink or a bite to eat after returning, but even those have dried up. Boston Pizza used to do a lots of them, then Brewhouse but last year there were very few yellow buses at the game. Hopefully as the team builds up a bit of hype again, those options start re-appearing.

For tonight though, you're best bet is to catch an LRT somewhere where they allow park and ride.

If anyone warns two free tickets for tonight’s game, message me. I’m not on here a lot but I’ll check mid or late afternoon.

Dave Naylor thoughts on CFL team best QB rooms: Rider QBs The CFL’s Best? – The Rod Pedersen Show

I like the Riders off-season moves to bring in a young, experienced Maier for a second organizational look and a quality back-up behind old man QB. Tommy Stevens as a third down specialist. Prospective diamond in Jack Coen who I watched in a great year at Notre Dame. Positioned well potentially for short and medium term continuity.

Really thought the Elkimos did good work to bring in veteran Fajardo to back-up Ford. I'm cheering for Canadian Ford's success against all but the Riders. I think Fajardo can be a positive veteran mentor to support Ford without the ego usually attached to former starter/veteran QB's.

Good on Sask to have a bit of depth, but Harris is still their number 1. Harris clearly isn't capable of playing a full season and likely only looks as good as he has the last few years because he's only played a full season once since 2018.

Now he does have an improved backup in Meier, but I'd have a hard time declaring that turns them into the best QB room when they just took on the guys who were essentially ran out of town from last place Calgary last year to supplement a guy that likely will miss at least a third of the season.

Though it will be interesting to see. The one thing going for this group though is Harris usually starts his season pretty strong before the inevitable injury hits. Perhaps there's enough positive vibes from a good start should he get injured that it could make it a bit easier for Meier to come into a confident and positive group.

I forgot that Maier moved on already. Been a situational outlier for that team to not just have their backup step in and be a star since about Flutie.

Agree with alot of your points. I'm not a big believer in Trevor Harris with age, health and ability to win big games. I really like the idea of evaluating a young experienced Maier whose last couple seasons were tied to a cratering Stamps team moving into rebuild phase after a long period of winning football. A good gamble to see if he resets with a fresh start in a hopefully competitive team. Harris too will be a good mentor to Maier's continuing development and maturation - guy's still young for having seasons of starting QB experience. Last year Rider back-ups Patterson and Dolagala are both out of the league after being cut as off season signings elsewhere. So an automatic upgrade with Maier and Stevens with their league experience.

Best in the league? I'm skeptical but like having CFL experience if/when Harris gets injured. haha

The EE win a close one--CFL style in the last moment.

Don't look now but the 3rd and 4th string QBs looked pretty decent in the pre-season. McElvain and Snyder will probably both stick around.

There was a time when the Elkimos were adept at finding QBs and maybe that strength has returned--a good omen. I don't remember the last time that 4 arms all looked good enough to claim a roster spot.

The defense looked good too.

FWIW I've complained about the lack of Park and Ride to the city and officials and the Naki one ironically is in ST Albert. The City is paying for that one according to the COE staffers and managers I spoke with. Why? I asked. "Part of a bigger incentivizing to get cost sharing. Doesn't make sense. City pays for the St Albert Park and ride when few Edmonton Park and Rides exist.

We have no park and ride at all on entire southside. They said "you have LRT options" I said try taking ETS from Millwoods to Stadium. Feeder bus, then Valley line all the way DT, then being in that cesspoll around meth Churchill Square station putting yourself at risk to go to a football game. Nah, not doing it.

I specifically mentioned that Park and Ride is utilized by people that wouldn't normally use transit but like that individual service. The same people won't ride LRT with the denizens that frequent it out of their minds on Meth and Tranq. Used to be the area around Commonwealth was sketch. Now the whole trip getting there is if taking public transit.

The biggest surprises (to me) were DBs Marcus Lewis and Demetries Ford who were projected starters by some. A lot of competition back there this season--unlike other years.

Hollins gone at WR. He was a high profile signing in the off-season but again, lots of competition at WR this year.

QB McElvain goes to the suspended list.

Final cut down day for every team in the CFL was yesterday but I don't see a list from the EE anywhere?

If someone has it then please post.
It’s now available on the Elks team website. On the CFL site you need to view the transactions. It was late to be posted and only went up about an hour ago. A big surprise was receiver Alexander Hollins being released. Apparently he had suffered a tweak in practice last week and the team was concerned there is a set back with his knee injury. Demetrius Ford, Marcus Lewis and Jacob Plamondon are released as well. The new kicker brought in last week is already gone so I guess the job is Blanchard’s. There were 27 cuts.

QB Snyder has been a pleasant surprise in camp.

What do you know about him (apart from what the website says). I'm a fan of Tre Ford's but given his injury history I think the #3 QB (as well as #2 of course) could get some playing time.

I like Cole Snyder. He is a pretty big body and both preseason games he has looked poised and confident. He comes out like he means business and wants to win. He hasn’t been here for the full training camp as he was trying out with a rookie camp for the Detroit Lions. As soon as he was cut he took the Elks up on their offer to come here and really seems to know what he’s doing. I don’t know if the Elks have a plan for third downs, but possibly Cole Snyder could do the job. I think he’s a great developmental quarterback and I could definitely see him get playing time if Tre Ford does go out. I am a Tre Ford fan as well, but in this league a starter never goes the season uninjured. Fajardo is our back up, but I could see Cole Snyder develop and be our number 2 at some point. As well the Elks have retained QB Will McElvain’s rights. I see he’s in the suspended list so must be going back to school. He as well showed a lot of potential.

That's right. Very few CFL QBs play all 18 games. You need to have quality backups.

Snyder has looked poised and he has some size too. Size isn't first on the "needs" list for a QB but it helps when you look at the sheer size of defensive players today.

McElvain looked good too so glad his rights have been retained.

Not a lot of surprises in today's cuts. Marcus Lewis was arguably their best D-back in 2023 but competition was much stiffer this camp.

Only 3 American receivers on the roster this year so obviously they have a lot of faith in the Canadian pass catchers.

The front 4 on the Defense might be the best they have had in a while.

Not too concerned about some of the "names" getting cut from the secondary. IMO, it's been a weak spot for this team for a long time, so if the competition has been ramped up this year by both quality and number, might be a good thing.

Interesting year at receiver.

It's rare that the EE would go into the season with so few "names" at the receiver spots. Apart from Dunbar and Gittens, everybody else is basically an unproven quantity but its to be expected because unlike other years the EE did not invest heavily at the WR or slotback spots.

Look forward to the season opener. The Evil Empire is waiting in the wings--plotting its return.
