Cfl 2025

The surname Ford could be quite popular with the EE.

In addition to the Ford brothers (Tyrell and Tre)-- a DB named Demetries Ford looks like he might make the team.

I guess BTO's "Roll Down the Highway" could be the EE's theme song.

Still 14 defensive backs and 15 offensive linemen on the roster with just 5 days to go until final cuts are due.

That shows you just how competitive camp is this year compared to recent history.

Naa I like sticking it to the culture that has ruined a once great franchise and I will bet my bottom dollar the day will come when they will change the name back to Eskimos.
I don't know if they will ever officially be called the Eskimos again, but the way there are going it wouldn't surprise me if everything else surrounding the team just has everyone calling them the Eskimos again.

Thompson and company have slowly been creeping their way back to it, but whether or not he'll ever officially change the name I'm not sure.

The EE has released Campbell Fair and signed an American kicker. All along I thought Blanchard was ahead of Campbell Fair. That’s unfortunate for Campbell Fair as he seemed a very nice fellow. It was necessary though in my opinion. Let’s hope this new American turns well for us. He seems a solid addition.

I really hope that Blanchard works out, as it's far preferable to not have an American as a kicker.

I don't know. 67% on field goals in the NFL last year with none further than 47 yards. Even as bad as Bede was last year, he was at least was 79% and I don't see how kicking becomes easier in the CFL than it does in the NFL.

Yes, I guess it could go either way. Apparently the new kicker was called this week and was already practicing today and made all his kicks. I had wondered before this signing if Ed Hervey would have Boris Bede on speed dial.

Yeah, since posting my prior post, I did more digging.

Apparently he had a pretty solid pre-season last year going 6 for 7 with his only miss being a 58 yarder but he also hit a 59 yarder.

On the other hand he was the first kicker to miss a FG from less than 40 yards in the regular season when he missed from 37 (the league was 115-116 to that point) leading to a pretty interesting tweet of Packer fans being frustrated with his struggles last year.

Could be an adventure. Is he a guy with a strong leg that just got the yips joining a team with high expections that got caught in quicksand drowning him out of the league, or is he simply a guy with a big leg that's extremely inconsistent. He's young enough still that it could go either way.

A look at his game log definitely shows why Packer fans ran out of patience quickly. Especially with the loss vs. Minnesota as two early misses may have influenced failed long gambles inside the 35 yard line later on in a game that they lost by 2 points. Frankly, trailing 28-0 at one point likely was the bigger issue, but we know fans at the end of a game like that would look at the 6 points left on the field.

Thompson has done a good job and i will give the eskimos that much credit for trying to right the ship .

I don't think we need to change the name. Just have to change the mindset that Eskimos was a bad word and treat it like it never existed. If I go to an Elks game, at least now, I can finally say "Eskimo" without people looking at you like you just said the N word. That's all I ever wanted. To stop treating history like it's a bad thing and we should forget about it.

Exactly.

Trying to erase history is ridiculous.

The term "Eskimos" was never meant to offend anyone but to those who think it was, you still can't deny that the team was called "Eskimos" long before anybody ever heard of the Elks.

How is the term Eskimo offensive
Many indigenous individuals consider it a term that was forced upon them by outside forces, and not a term of endearment. There's no consensus (there rarely is with issues like these) on it, I've spoken to indigenous friends who hate the term and other friends who don't care and other friends who consider it fine.

I like what Thompson is doing. I was a hardliner, but over the years I've understood more nuance in the debate. LT is handling it perfectly, IMO. Acknowledge the history while building a new future.

So good news everyone! a friend of mine ended up getting offered Season Tickets to the Elks, and he WON! And he's giving them all to me! So I'll be at most of the games this season! Looking forward to it!

My next question though, is the parking there. I live in Millwoods and I saw the Park and Ride from Millwoods TC is gone, so I can't do that anymore. How much is parking at the Commonwalth Stadium, or is there a Park and RIde LRT close to Millwoods you'd recommend?

There used to be one at the bus barns by Wagner.

Nope. The only park and ride available is these places:

Football Park & Ride Lots

Note: The Stadium Park & Ride lot will also be closed 2 hours prior to the start of the games.

All Central North and West. Kinda stupid if you ask me.

Bummer, hopefully there is a parking lot at Millwoods Town Center
