Cfl 2025

The EE made a few interesting moves today:

Jarret Doege is gone at QB. Not a big surprise there.

Kai Gray is gone from the corner spot. That's a bit of a surprise but Ford and Bynum are the likely starters at the corner positions. Gray was one of the few bright spots in the D-backfield over the last few seasons but it was probably the worst backfield in club history. They made some strides in the right direction in 2024.

Jake Taylor, the Alberta boy, has also been cut. A bit of a surprise there given the promise he showed but there is so much competition in the defensive backfield this season as opposed to years gone by. I wonder if the Stamps will be interested in him?

Incredibly, even after the cuts today, there are still 25 defensive backs remaining on the listed roster.

Rookie camp opens on Sunday. Lots more cuts coming to get down to the 75 man roster.

I like what I see in terms of competition--very optimistic compared to other years. The Evil Empire is re-loading-book it.

I spoke with Jake's dad a few weeks ago, he was pumped about the new coach. Too bad as he is from Beaumont, played in Leduc and Sherwood Park.

Yes, very glad they have lots of competition in the defensive backfield this year, as I think that was one of their weaknesses. Ford will certainly bring credibility to one part of it, for sure.

Thanks. Keep the updates coming.

What happened to Dean Faithful?
He was a free agent who wasn’t signed. A really nice guy by all accounts, who did a lot in the community, but I don’t think he’s the solution to our kicker issues. Ed Hervey was on with Morley Scott a few days ago and said he may still decide to bring in another kicker at some point.

So question, where is the best place to buy Elks tickets at lower prices? I'm looking at Aug 2 for 2 tickets or Aug 15 for 2 tickets, as I have a friend who has never seen a football game before, and I want to show him the Elks game. I know lately it's been cheap, but I see on Ticketmaster, selling tickets for like $100+ in the center of the field, and I don't have that kind of money to be throwing around LOL. If I can't find anything reasonable, I might skip it, but I wouldn't mind going. Same with Riverhawks tickets, but those are more reasonable.

Things picked up in the off-season:

-The team thinks Darian Newell was the best player in the draft; they’re willing to wait for him.
-They chatted very briefly about a name change but nothing happened.
-they’ve talked to a high-profile U.S.-college QB; he’s not a great NFL candidate but built for the CFL.

My opinion: I’m very optimistic about the team this season. So many great free agents signed. Second-place finish and a shot at it all.

Not sure what to say. Unfortunately the team hasn't set it up like Oilers season tickets where people can re-sell their tickets on Ticketmaster. As such, as far as I know it's still in the stone age where you have to find someone willing to sell their tickets and work out the exchange directly.

I hope at some point they change this approach, but I suspect they only do so as they know the second hand market is quite a bit cheaper on these than listed ticket price so they'd just be de-valuing their own tickets.

I'd encourage trying to find people on marketplace sites like Facebook or kijiji, maybe even Twitter, but be careful to do your homework with an individual before sending money.

For those 2 games, there's a very good chance my family won't be using our 4 tickets for one game or the other, but we haven't locked in our plans quite yet.

Thanks for the reply! And to the bolded, if you by chance need to offload your tickets to either game, let me know in DMs! And for sure, I don't like to book tickets off sketchy sites or anyone that could potentially scam me.

Costco online ( maybe in store as well, not sure) has a voucher for 2 tickets for 59.99 + about a $10 Ticketmaster service fee, so about $35 a ticket. Pretty good deal, but limited number of tickets available for each game.

We are season ticket holders, but recently purchased some extra tickets for some family coming to the August 2nd game. We went through the Elks sales team and we avoided the Ticketmaster fee. We bought 5 tickets for about $100.00 (2 adults and 3 children) These are pretty good seats. You may find something cheaper by contacting the Elks sales team. They were very helpful we found.

Bought a new saskachewan shirt from Giant Tiger. Was on sale for 12 bucks .... So... That's kind of neat

I have nothing else to contribute other than that. Ill leave now 😢
