So it used to be that the iconic Grey Cup was walked in to the playing surface in the 4th Q by 2 members of the RCMP and now 2 West Jetters that blindly put up with their shitty service get the honour in the pregame? f*** off West Jet and CFL.

Grey Cup is almost as old as the Stanley Cup. For all the crap the CFL takes, these championship games are always memorable.

Despite everything that's been bad about the Esks/Elks since 2006 (including the overwhelmingly negative posts I just read here) I'm about to renew my EE season tickets for a 28th season mostly because of hope generated by the Chris Morris hiring. I guess that makes me not as savvy as the 2nd 3rd & 4th guessing, sarcastic, condescending, sick of the quirky CFL, change hating, staus quo hating, no longer residing near YEG, Rider loving, stuck in the past, ignorant of the present, serially pessimistic, pissed off for good reason, generally pissed off always bunch who post in this thread. See you at Commonwealth next year...er, I mean probably not.

P.S.: I'm looking forward to watching today's Grey Cup game just like I've done every year since I was in Gr. 2 and Russ Jackson & the Ottawa Rough Riders were the equivalent of Zach Collaros & the Winnipeg Blue Bombers today.
Russ Jackson I love. Tony Gabriel can pound sand.

Great for the new owner that you are sticking around. Mr Katz is on very thin ground with me personally and I might give some to Mr Thompson instead. Going to depend on the upcoming discounts McDavid and Bouch take.

Oh and f*** the Bombers.
Very weak take..... ;)

I’m from Sask. I would have said worse about the Bombers but it’s a family site. :)

I enjoyed Whitman. He and Frank Rigney were great IMO. The good old days of broadcasters.
Chevrier, Esaw, Duguid, Whitman was very good too (I was just kidding). And wait for it…Ronnie L was a beauty in the booth too.

Chris Walby sucked.

That was a lot of Manitoba talent there. They do have good broadcasters.

You’re going back a long way with Frank Rigney, he was the first of that crew that was replaced. Probably early 80’s.
I like to think of it as the golden age of the league in general, including the broadcasting crews. The crap we are subjected to now is pathetic in comparison.

Walby was better than almost everybody we’re subjected to now, lol. I still think Duane Ford does a good job but he doesn’t get many games anymore. No idea how Suitor still sticks around. I had almost forgotten about Walby, he’s been gone so long. I can’t remember how long he was at CBC but he seemed to be a staple for a long time.
