As if this league couldn't get any dumber. Are they actually going to have 2 Grey Cups there between the last one we had here? Seriously?

It's like the WANT to make less money and make the league look more bush than it already is. I've stated for years that Grey Cups should be limited to Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, Regina, and Winnipeg and move it around on a scheduled basis.

Don't have the facility for it? Too bad.

And not reward a brand new owner that chose to invest in the league while the team has been going through its roughest period financially in its history bleeding big money the last few seasons.

Should help future teams that need to sell find an owner knowing the league isn't interested in helping cash flow for a new owner anytime soon after they buy into it.

More and more I'm thinking this is Ambrosie sticking it to Edmonton for something.

As a comparison, BC got it's first possible Grey Cup after Doman bought the team. Granted it was three years out, but the Cup two years out was already awarded to Hamilton because Hamilton had theier 2021 Grey Cup highjacked by Covid restrictions.

That at least was a logical reason to make them wait for a third year, but in this case, they're making him wait at least an extra year to give it to their biggest rival who has the worst building in the league and to a ownership group that will be getting a brand new hockey arena the following year but hasn't done enough to get a new or improved football building. Talk about a slap in Larry's face.

To add to this, LT is starting at $0. No profit, no loss, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the losses are probably going to be stacking up for the next 18-24 months at least.

An easy way to assist a new owner in this position is to give him a Grey Cup to help offset the losses that he's going to take as a result of stepping into this position when the team and league badly needed it. Grey Cup net income was around $3M the last time we had it, which is almost a perfect amount to bridge the gap to possible black ink at some point.

Guess it's more important to reward the franchise that has invested basically nothing in a facility or franchise that is an embarrassment.

A good (but sad) example of why the CFL consistently shoots itself in the foot as a business and exhibit 1000 as to why RA was an abject failure as a CFL commissioner.

Hopefully they have workable toilets by then.
Picture of their toilet strategy stolen from the actual bid.

That last one in Regina looked pretty bad with all the no shows.
