Pass. We aren't in 2020 anymore and he isn't serious. With Miljevic's off the field shenanigans we don't need to hear about James passing out in a stripclub before gameday. I do expect Toronto to go after him soon.

I wouldn't say no to Roger Martinez though...

I really like the James Neal trade, he is lanky for a CB so he tends to get bullied at times. From the games I've seen, he seems the Yoro type. Tall, raw but with high ceiling, not the strongest but above average awareness with decent positioning.

Aside from Waterman and Pearce, it's quite a young defense. Feels like adding a veteran back there would be much needed.

Also, TIL Fernando Alvarez was born in the US.

If you read the article he wrote, and also a conversation I had with Doyle in the comments, it kind of doesn't make sense on the surface, but also does.

Neal needs to start. That's why he signed the contract, because he was promised starting minutes and he knew he wasn't going to get it relatively soon in LA.

But we already have three CB's who are all returning from being starters, and it's not like they're old and ready to take a back seat. They are expecting to start as well. So what gives?

I think it's been known here that I am not a fan of George Campbell, and I am still not sold on Alvarez though I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt since he's so young and it was his first season (and the coaches sucked in their defensive schemes).

Neal is right footed. Waterman isn't moving to the right side opening up the middle. Campbell is there. Alvarez should be safe on the left side.

So where are the starting minutes going to come? I can't help but think that Campbell's days with the team are coming to end, maybe in the summer transfer window.
The supporting cast on this squad is well above average in MLS. But we will be defined by the firepower we possess.
Isn't that pretty much the entire history of CFMTL/Impact summed up in one sentence?

I bet they'll try Neal in Alvarez's spot. He's one of the next ones gone, before Campbell.

Pure #9. 9 Goals and 1 assist in 31 games for New England, who were dogshit for most of the year. Has a lot of talent but is a reclamation project as well.

Made just under 2 million last year. Assuming he'd be a DP as he was at New England.

He had 12 goals last season if you factor in the various tourneys, which makes for a very good production all told. He's definitely a pure scorer. I just like that he's not another guy who needs to learn the MLS style, we haven't been lucky at all with those.
