I live near Charlotte, NC, transplanted many years ago from upstate NY. I have purchased the Center Ice Package from Time Warner Cable for many years to be able to watch my Islanders.....yeah I'm a glutton for punishment. ;).

Anyways, usually, when the Isles play at home, I would get the Isles broadcasters (Howie & and whoever), but this year, 90% of the game feeds have been the oppositions feed.

Doesn't matter if it's a home or road game.

Wondering why this is?

Seriously, I've had Howie and Butch maybe only 15 times this year.

It has made me hate certain overly 'homer' broadcast teams (something maybe for a diffetrent thread).

Why would this be?

When I was in Ohio with TW, it was the same way. Very frustrating.

I switched to DirecTV when I moved to Florida to get the NFL package - and here the only time o don't get our broadcast is when we play the Panthers, Lightning or a national game. So it's much better.

I don't know why TW doesnt offer our feed, because I can tell you first hand it IS available.

Same boat as you. I have Center Ice and I get the away feeds more than the home feeds here in Tampa with Brighthouse.

Next year I am thinking of switching to Game Center Live so that I have both options, plus I can use my Apple TV to play on my TV if and when I needed too.

gamecenter live is real nice. as long as you have a decent network connection, you will be real happy with it. plus, you can watch the games on your phone if a tv isnt available.

TV, Phone and tablet all available to use and Apple TV to take with me if I go to a place I need to bring it with me. Oh and a nice 23 inch computer monitor to watch from.

I'm bicoastal....I travel back from NYC to Cali all year round....I have Game Center....I love it...Stream from my Apple TVs...Ipad...Nexus....Iphone...PS3...love it. I'm not sure if I remember more than once that I didn't get the MSG feed. It's also always in HD. I've had Center Ice on Time Warner in Manhattan and in the past at my parents house on LI...I don't remember ever having HD on Center Ice. U can also log in anywhere and watch from anyone's device.

I am guessing liscensing fees. For whatever reason Center Ice on non Dish Network doesn't have HD rights to MSG so they will play the feed whichever is HD. If they can only play the SD feed for both teams they will air the Home teams. I also notice teams on Comcast(Flyer and Chicago) don't seem to get many home team broadcasted

I'd highly recommend GCL over Center Ice. Archives the games in addition to what everyone else has already pointed out. When I had the subscription, I'd usually wait until the 3rd period to start watching so I could just fast forward through the commercials. DVR can do the same thing, but it isn't available on the computer, t.v., phone, tablet, etc. like GCL is.

hockeystreams was a pleasure to use this season. i bought one of those streaming device dealios that does netflix/hulu/google chrome/etc. hockeystreams ran really smoothly on chrome. no complaints. a lot cheaper than GCL, better picture, and more leagues available.
