I know this is getting off the thread, but has anyone heard what NHL Center Ice plans to do with the shortened season?

I haven't been able to find any updates. I'm a subscriber (have no choice since it's the only way to follow the Isles in LA).

Moved to its own thread. Brighthouse has no pricing yet. WWW.Indemand.com the company that does Center Ice, has no pricing there either. I would imagine this week sometime we'll see something. I suspect the pricing will be $90-$125 range.

Thanks. I'm hoping the NHL working with Indemand gives some sort of discount to regular subscribers as a way to reach out to fans.

I can hope.

I am figuring this:

Last year CI was $169.00 for me. So I took 169 and divided it by 82 and you get $2.06 per game.

So we're getting 48 games, so 48 x $2.06= $98.92. That should be the cost based on simple division, but I get the feeling we'll be over $100 bucks for CI this season. I don't think we'll see a discount.

I've heard that many of the bars that usually carry CI, are less then enthusiastic about carrying a partial season. The way to draw them back, may be discounting the cost of CI. It's would probably be
good PR for the league as well.

Something they could certainly use.

There are rumours that gamecentre live will be free...didn't hear an announcement today though, so maybe that's dead in the water...

They usually releases stuff at the last minute for it. Every season they have the early bird thing but then when you actually get to sign up it seems like the last minute. I usually just wait until the monthly deal and I doubt that will change. $20 a month is what I do...

Just got off the phone with DirectTv.....4 payments of $14.95. $59.80 for the partial season

What are some good bars that carry CI where I can watch Isles games?

Can you buy it already or not until Saturday?

That's like $1.04 per game. Not a bad deal, considering it's usually like $159 for the season.

You're getting just over half the games, but paying less than 1/3 of the price.

If you want to get technical, divide that by 30 and that is the true price per game ($.03 per game). ;)

For anyone that has had Center Ice in the past, do some games 'not make the cut'? It says up to 40 games a week. Does that mean there's a chance that some games might not be broadcasted? I'd like to get this in order to watch every Islanders game, but if there are going to be some games that I can't get, I might reconsider.

True, if you watch more than just the Isles on CI, then you're getting even more value out of the package. :naughty:

Now if Comcast would just carry the HD feeds of those games, it would be a no brainer for me.

Everything is broadcasted unless there is a blackout (covered locally or nationally). At least from my experience. I've never seen a game on center ice or GCL that just simply wasn't available.

That is why I switched to GCL. Though I did switch from Comcast to Verizon recently and might check and see if they carry Center Ice in HD.

GCL is a good service though. The PS3 app kinda sucked, but that was my only real negative. Also games were delayed a couple minutes.

On twitter:

@georgemalik: For those of you who haven't seen it, the NHL's confirmed that Center Ice and GameCenter Online will cost $49.99 this season.

Are the GCL games in HD?
