Celebrini is a human highlight machine and that is gonna help him tremendously. The East Coast writers aren't gonna stay up and watch him dominate a full game but they'll watch highlights of him making an sick no-look goal or an insane diving save to stop a goal against. Then they'll start questioning their preconceived notions of him, if they haven't already. Isn't this kid just supposed to be a two-way player? What's with the flash? What's with the snipes? The comps of "Crosby light" (which is a compliment) will fade as Mack quickly becomes his own comp, as others in these threads have said. Mack for Calder.

I still laugh at some of the overreactions the Hertl trade caused. Obviously we will know how it turns out further down the line but it felt like a great trade from the get go and flipping the assets to get a potential franchise starting goalie makes it look even better.

I might have to drop Michkov since he's not doing anything for me in my fantasy league. That Celebrini kid is available so I think im gonna swap those two.

I also dropped Walman for Toews four days ago for plus/minus and Im feeling the regret as someone picked him up immediately lol

Michfraud 0 points, -2 again

On one shift near the end of the game he turned the puck over in the neutral zone forcing Ersson to stay in the net, then the Flyers got it back and Michkov iced it. When they finally pulled Ersson and got the puck into the Red Wings zone, Seider casually lifted Michkov’s stick behind the net and cleared it. Then Michkov lost a race to Seider on the following Flyers dump in.

Actually, on that shift he just wasn’t being deployed correctly.

I would take this box score with a grain of salt. If the scorers at the NHL offices have any self respect, they’ll review the game, and recognize and award all 4 Flyers goals to Mitchkov (+2 of the primary apples) because he inspired the other players how to properly score goals, in that oh so generational way, and that no Flyers forward would even be able to identify which net to shoot at without Matvei’s key eye and ability to point his head toward the goal. Something Celebrini doesn’t even do. ;)

The NHL is also working to change Michkov's birth certificate so he's still a teenager.

It's amazing how much of hockey is opportunity plus who you are playing with. I think the number one mistake GM's in team sports (outside of baseball which is a series of one on one battles) is not taking the context of who complementary players play with into account.

I watched specifically to watch Michkov. Didn't see much from him. Probably a burn the tape game for the rook and move on. He's clearly going to be a great player, but even in TB Celebrini was making some things happen, because he's a three zone player.

Konecky and Sanheim were good, Kane was randomly excellent for the Wings.
