Only downside of Bichsel returning is Christian Kyrou's role took a hit. No longer on that 2nd PP unit although i prefer him there over Bichsel personally

Iowa up 1-0 at the end of the 1st.

Dumb offensive zone penalty by McKenzie. Stankoven and Bourque were creating and the puck was loose in front of the opposing goal and instead of going for it McKenzie skated right by it and hit a guy instead.

Bourque scores a powerplay goal on a rebound from a McDonald shot. McDonald's shot sorta snuck through the Iowa goalie and then Bourque tapped it home

Some great chances created by the trio of Bourque, Stankoven, and Bichsel just now

Wheatcroft, Seminoff, and Stranges have created some looks as well. Pretty fun line

Wild take a 3-2 lead halfway through the 3rd period.

Down at the other end Bourque was setup for a prime chance by Stankoven right in front of the goal but Bourque fell down and lost the puck. If Bourque stayed on his feet it's probably 3-2 Texas right now

Instead of calling a timeout and keeping Stankoven and co. on the ice, Texas coaching staff through the 2nd group out and they have up the empty net goal almost immediately.

Btw, the 2nd unit had Petrovic up top instead of Kyrou or Bichsel. No idea why. Terrible coaching

Lol. To add to this, Stankoven's line apparently didn't take a shift this period until 9 minutes in

I gotta remember these people aren't in the NHL for a reason. So many unusual decisions

Any reason why they didn’t play much in the 3rd?

Nah they were easily Texas' best line. There was a PK for a couple of minutes but idk why it took them so long to get a full shift. Texas announcer pointed it out as well

After that they took regular shifts

I remember some people wanting Graham for the Dallas coaching spot last season.

Was Kyrou benched?

I feel like I didn't see him at all after the first period. (Granted, Kyrou's been bad in general, but still. Gotta let him through his shit.)

I didn't notice him getting benched but I wasn't really on the lookout for him. Could've sworn I saw him pretty consistently in the 3rd period though
