Explain then why not more AAA players from 5 teams didn't make one of the 12 CCHL teams in previous years? Because they are not Jr.A caliber and that is the plain fact. If CCHL wasn't about winning then who would want their kids to play there? MHL pays their players for a reason.

In the past couple of years around 46 to 48% of the CCHL are players from the 5 team AAA league. Lets see how many U18 players move up this year.
In a 4/5 year league ( 17,18,19,20 with some 16 year olds) that works out about to be about 32 HEO players per age group.
So 32 x 4=128 HEO players in CCHL.
We will see how many U 18 ages players move up.

Roster Size

How many players can a CCHL team carry now? Was it reduced last year or is that new for this year? Can you still carry more to a certain date then you have to send players down? I know a few players ended up in u18 last year not sure about CCHL2.

Dec 1 all Jr teams under HC have be reduce there card count to 25 active players or blank cards, So example would be 20 roster players and 5 available cards.
Jan 10 there is another reduction to 21 active players or cards.
Yes, I know there are no actual cards now it's electronic.
The CCHL has a roster limit. My best guess is they can have 30 players on this list. Example 22 active playing then 8 drafted players.
The number could be bigger now that they control U 18 so may be 40/45 I do not know.

CJHL Disciplinary Announcement

The "Canadian Junior Hockey League announced the suspension of head coach Ryan Papaioannou and assistant coach Scott Cunningham of the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) as a result of conduct exhibited during a game May 21, 2016 vs the West Kelowna Warriors.

Mr. Papaioannou received a suspension of 15 games, while Mr. Cunningham received a 5 game suspension. In addition, the Brook Bandits organization will be fined $15,000. The discipline is meant to deter similar conduct with other teams and personnel from across the CJHL in the future."

In the Royal Bank Cup semi-final game, the Brooks team took 9 misconduct and 3 game misconduct penalties in the 3rd period.

CP Signings

Pointstreak shows the signing of five players by Carleton Place.

Hughes, Connor (G) previously played with the Pembroke LUmber Kings. Elite Prospects had a rumour of Mr. Hughes joining a Swiss Men’s team.

Earlier this season, Elite Prospects was reporting that Girduckis, Aiden (D) had been transferred by Wellington to the NAHL, Amarillo Bulls.

Tupker, Ben (F) past midget team plays in the ETAHL which is quite an extensive geographical 14 team league that includes Barrie, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston, etc.

Hill, Connor (F) is showing that he is slated to play for Niagara University in 2017/18.

For Sheedy, Zachary (F), other HF readers need to provide additional info on this young man.

Sheedy is highly skilled, very good speed, could be a real impact player.

Bo did play in the Q last season and may do so again this season. Smith Falls has just acquired his Junior A rights if he leaves the Q.

Lumber Kings

Both 20 yrs old and probably won't make there ohl teams as overagers does anyone thinks they will return to the lumber kings

Interesting question.

Currently the Kings have 7 ’96 players & are allowed to only play 6 per game.
D-Ashley; Keuhl
F-Minns; O’Neill; Gilmour; Felabher; Horn

If Steege & McDade are to be added to the roster, some of last year’s players would need to be traded or released.

O'Neill is playing NCAA III Hockey this coming season. So that leaves one player, my guess is Keuhl will end up somewhere else.

On August 19th the Nepean Raiders are scheduled to play a pre-season game against the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL.

How are the Nepean players protected from losing their NCAA eligibility if they play in this game? Thanks.
