So after 11 years of Jarmo/Davidson we have more questions than answers about this team. GMDW has his work cut out for him.

Evason has been a very good coach for the Jackets. Finally a professional coach behind the bench. But he clearly has two blind spots IMO - a reluctance to pull the goalie and a love for icing too guys like his current 4th line grinders.

Scratching JVR who is 8th on the team in scoring in favor of Kuraly and Kunin who are both ECHL caliber players is a head scratcher for me
If we somehow managed to make playoffs we'd get swept anyways. Let's just fix the team and move on to next year. New goalies, new fourth line, new 3D pairing.

It has been a good year with progress beyond what I ever could have expected. The off-season moves should be interesting.

The offseason moves should be the same ones we expected to start the season. We see who folds under pressure. DW kept the team together to let them try to run it to the end and instead they've been playing loose and sloppy and not within the system.
We knew starting the season the defense was bad. They are who we thought they were. Werenski is tired, Fabbro is still a waiver claim. We all knew the bottom pair was bad. We now know the level of trust in Severson is minimal to none. Mateychuk is still very young in his first pro season. We knew JJ was old and Christansen is basically a #7 D
We had a nice run but guys gotta start playing the system again.
hate to break it to you Dean but some of your favorites are the worst offenders of not "dialing in to keep it out of our net"
