The coach has already talked with Elvis about controlling his temper and not slamming sticks. If the coach cares, maybe we should too.
And maybe everybody should be concerned with being better on the ice and doing their job.

Its the NHL and someone getting upset does not absolve them them not doing the things they should be doing.

Its easy to play the blame game but if Elvis gets mad at himself or someone else, it doesn't change the fact that the 5 guys in front of him are not doing their job. Elvis not getting mad would not change the score of this game at this point. Energy should be directed at things that actually matter.

Address the cause, not the effect.

the only thing Elvis can control is his own game and his own attitude. To quote herb brooks in Miracle, plenty to keep him busy.

And he made some nice stops that nobody is talking about. The players in front of him can do the same. As goalie, he should have a short memory on mistakes made. The same thought applies to the other players on the ice too. I find it really hard to believe a stick smack is enough to shatter a fragile psyche of an NHL player. Pick up, move on, and do your job applies to every player o the team

I'm not even on the team this team makes me irate after this period and I knew we'd suck this season. I just find the whole thought that a single short moment of frustration can lead to an entire team clenching their butt cheeks and skate around like chickens with their heads cut off.

This team has much bigger issues but everyone just wants to pile on the goalie and lay all the blame on him for this team's problems (this period is an example) because he's competitive and doesn't hide emotions when he gets mad. Even if it is mad at himself.

I missed much of the game and have been hastily catching up via DVR, but what I've seen so far has me remaining optimistic about Fabbro... and feeling sadly vindicated in my distatste for Provorov-Severson as a pairing.

Also, is it just me or is Olivier having a rough game?

Wonder if he's fighting illness. Everytime they show him he's gasping for air

When our best goal scorer (Mathieu Olivier) went cold, so did the whole team.

We’re going to be even worse than last year. Which is impressive. Waddell has his work cut out for him.

I won’t be renewing my STH after this year.

That last line isn't the gotcha you think it looks like. It's Karen energy.

usually when trailing and on a 2 on 1 taking a shot is a good idea. He was probably too busy thinking about Elvis slamming his stick

Obnoxiousness aside, he looks like he was thinking that but held too long and allowed both the shot and pass option to get taken away. Our shots are almost exclusively from pointmen without us getting to rebounds or generating other shot opportunities so padding their goalie's stats definitely

All that enthusiasm and hope in the first few weeks of the season......*poof*......gone.

I mean, they're still playing okay hockey (better than last year) but results aren't happening.
Dela vù. I'm pretty certain the exact same things were being said this time last year, or at least it was quite similar.

Nevertheless, I remain optimistic for this team with Evason as coach. I look forward to seeing Kent Johnson back.
