I wouldn't guess that Fischer is any better than Pyyhtia, but it does help Cleveland to be able to put Pyyhtia down there. We've got some prospect down there that need support.

Did we roll out good fourth lines when this many (there are still two) roster mainstays are hurt?

I'm struggling to remember the last time we had a fully healthy forward group lineup.

Also, I thought I saw Chinakov was moved to Kuraly's line?

Yes, Chinakhov - Kuraly - Labate (and I imagine Fischer replaces Labate when he arrives).

Yes, Chinakov is probably on the 4th line tonight. But as to LaBate and Fischer…..the former isn’t a has been because he’s a never was and Fischer looks like as a statistically non productive forward as you’ll find.

I do hope to never again see them once a couple more guys return.

Post deadline lines, when healthy (excluding Gudbranson since it appears he won’t be ready until playoffs)

Voronkov-Monahan-Marchenko
Jenner-Fantilli-KJ
Chinakhov-Sillinger-JVR
Danforth-Kuraly-Olivier
ZAR, Fischer, Kunin

Z-Fabbro
Mateychuk-Provorov
Christiansen-Severson
Johnson, Harris

And then while we wait for Monahan and Sillinger…

Voronkov-Fantilli-Marchenko
JVR-Jenner-KJ
Chinakhov-Danforth-Olivier
ZAR-Kuraly-Kunin
Fischer

Thing is we aren’t going to be healthy any time soon. We still have what, 2+ weeks till Monahan, who knows with Cole. If they don’t figure out a way to make it work over the next 2 weeks it might not matter. I can see 0-4 over the next four, with how they have looked since 4 nations.

We control our own destiny right now, but by the time Monahan returns who knows.

And as Major said, ZAR is definitely IN.

You've got to pencil in ZAR.

I don't know if Monahan and Sillinger will be back before Gudbranson - did we hear that Gudbranson won't be back until the playoffs? I wonder if Monahan might take a while longer.

Ah yes ZAR. Added

Porty said Silly and Monahan will be back in late march. Gudbranson in mid April

Someone commented that JVR - Jenner - KJ was too slow and needed help getting in on the forecheck. I think that's maybe what the coaches are thinking here, putting Olivier with them instead of JVR. I am a bit skeptical that Olivier is really "quick" enough to be a big difference in that department, I know he has good top speed but it's largely about side to side. We'll see. I would not have messed with that line yet.

Chinakhov with Danforth and Kunin - I have no idea. If they can spring Chinakhov on some rush chances then he doesn't necessarily need to play with talent to score, and maybe they can cycle together?

haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere but
Christian Fischer has history playing at Nationwide Arena…

after doing some research,

he has had a hat trick at nationwide arena early on in his career. wild.

he has 5 points in 7 career games to go along with a +5 rating when playing in columbus.

more of this please.

“Right now, that’s what our thought is, that he [Olivier] plays with Boone and ‘KJ,’” Evason said. “He’s earned that right. He kills penalties, he gets in on the forecheck, disrupts and scores goals for us, and we expect him to do all those things for us, no matter where he plays.”

I'd personally move on from JVR, JJ, and ZAR. LDBB, Brindley, Malatesta, etc. offer more upside plus possibly a FA pick-up.

Provorov is more interesting. I wouldn't want to go much past 4 years and I'm guessing he's looking for 6-7. If you trade his rights or let him walk, how do you re-shape the top 4?

Via free agency and trades.
I agree with DSL. I wouldn't let him walk. I'd try to sign him to a reasonable contract if I couldn't trade his rights. To re-shape the top 4 via trades we're going to have to give up some of our young forwards. People will moan and groan but that is going to happen if we build the D through trades.

another game or 2 and hopefully Evason is comfortable putting Chinny on line 2. JVR wasn't bad there but Evason likes to tinker with strange things. Or put Voronkov there and put Chinakhov with Fantilli-Marchenko. Voronkov can't keep up with the way that line moves now anyway
