For a rental, I agree but if it's for a long term piece, why not. While I think this is a playoff team, there is no way they should be buyers for a big piece.

Or make it clear there’s no worry about him clearing waivers.Maybe the club was brutally honest with him and said that they will continue to bring up Jet to be the goalie when Elvis needs a break and that if Tarasov hopes to play he needs to accept the assignment with the expectation that it will help him and the club in the future
Kesselring would be amazing but there's no way Utah trades, he's turned into an incredible young dman.Hearing Waddell allude to wanting to make a hockey trade with regards to Provorov in the event of a playoff race in his interviews with Marek and Scheig got me thinking.
There have previously been talks of Provorov to Utah. If Utah too want to push for the playoffs, would a deal based around Provorov for Kesselring be at all likely? Utah have Durzi and Marino on the right-hand side that should be back soon as well as Lamoureux coming up. If they could add and re-sign Provorov, that would strengthen their left-hand side significantly, while Columbus get a young up-and-coming RHD to play in the top 4 moving forward.
I suppose Utah don't really need to rush anything and, since Kesselring is cheap, can keep him on the third pair or as a 7D. But that's a trade that would intrigue me.
Well, didn't see the game but Tarasov's numbers were not good tonight stopping just 25 of 30. Ouch!

Id seriously kick the tires on Durzi in the offseason but that's unlikely too as he just signed a deal there.
I wonder what the Islanders would want for Dobson.
If only we didn’t panic with Jiricek and could have used him as a trade piece.
Durzi would have been great if we didnt sign Severson. Dobson has great analytics and would be another top dman who could help out Z. He'd excel in Evason's system but also would cost a lot.Durzi is the kind of offensive D that we don't seem to have the minutes available for. And I hear much the same about Dobson, that he's the offensive guy and not so reliable defensively.
I think I'd feel quite satisfied going into next year if Waddell managed to fill only one of the two roster spots with a right type of defensive dman. That and and better goaltending should make a difference in goals against. Acquiring just one veteran D would be less risky cap-wise, giving them flexibility to do changes if some of the pairs or individuals don't seem to work out eventually. It would also allow Hunt/Svozil/whoever to make the jump from AHL to NHL if any of them appear to be NHL-ready.Let’s assume we retiring Fabbro so that solves the pair with Werenski.
We need a steady vet to man then second pair with Mateychuk and we need a reliable stay-home guy on the third pair with Severson.
Meh, I think we got a pretty good return for him. Hunt has some potential to be that solid two way guy that we need. If we end up dumping Provorov I could see him stealing a spot out of camp. Gudbranson will be back next season as well which should add some grit. I still think we need another body or two for injuries. As JJ should not be on this roster next season. If only we didn’t panic with Jiricek and could have used him as a trade piece.
People throwing Brindley’s name around as an add-in on trades have me punching air rn
