Being an actual good defenseman. Can't believe we have some arguing Tyutin was a better defenseman lmao
It's hard for me to compare them because Murray only played big minutes for a small part of his career, I think around 2015 when Jones came over and Murray happened to be healthy for the year. After that he was pushed down the lineup and generally looked good in a bottom pair role with Nutivaara, when they weren't injured. The glimmers of Ryan Murray looked better than Tyutin ever did, but those were short lived glimmers.
Edit: I checked and Murray also played a lot in the 2/3 of the season he was healthy in 2018-19, splitting time with Nutivaara and Jones. Of course he was out injured in our lone playoff run.
Ok, if you say so. Injuries or whatever he never lived up to 2nd overall expectations.
I can leave draft status out of it. It's not a part of the question. But with all of the injuries we really didn't see the good Ryan Murray for more than a couple months here and there.
