It's hard for me to compare them because Murray only played big minutes for a small part of his career, I think around 2015 when Jones came over and Murray happened to be healthy for the year. After that he was pushed down the lineup and generally looked good in a bottom pair role with Nutivaara, when they weren't injured. The glimmers of Ryan Murray looked better than Tyutin ever did, but those were short lived glimmers.

Edit: I checked and Murray also played a lot in the 2/3 of the season he was healthy in 2018-19, splitting time with Nutivaara and Jones. Of course he was out injured in our lone playoff run.

I think that's the biggest point right there. He had TONS of potential for greatness. We just never really got to see it.

His injury history which limited 3 of his 4 seasons keeps him off the list. He was a very good defensive defenseman but during overlapping periods Jan Hejda was more productive.
