Confirmed with Link: [CBJ/NYR] McQuaid for 2019 4th, 7th & (D) Julius Bergman

I said he wouldn't be a third pairing D, and he'd be playing with Skjei. You told me:

I was told we were gonna get a 2nd rounder...at worst a third. People were all up in arms about him playing against the Devils.....yes, people were freaking about McQuaid.
 
basically break even, as many anticipated,
although NYR 4/7th picks (to Boston) will be higher than CBJ picks received
(Kampfer wasn't missed much, aside from Hartford having no RHD all season long until Raddysh/Holland deal)

  • 2018-Sep-11 Traded from Boston Bruins to New York Rangers for Steven Kampfer, round 4 pick in the 2019 draft and conditional round 7 pick in the 2019 draft
  • 2019-Feb-25 Traded from New York Rangers to Columbus Blue Jackets for round 4 pick in the 2019 draft and round 7 pick in the 2019 draft
 
At least we got our 4th and 7th round picks back for this year. We have at least 1 pick for every round this year.
 
I was playing Yu-Gi-Oh one time, and I set an MST, and this guy MST'd my MST, so I chained MST and MST'd his MST.

That was McQauid's tenure as a Ranger.

Why was it not a good thing? Did he help us win too many games and mess with our precious 2019 1st round draft pick? No. Did he stick up for team mates when that dipshit McLeod wouldn't? Yes.

I'm not seeing the negative to McQuaid being on roster for 50-60 games.

I have no problem saying that I was wrong that Skjei-McQuaid wasn't going to be a pairing... but the context of that conversation was SF whining (yes, whining) about bringing McQuaid in to play 1st pair. If I'm going to be honest about my position, so should he.

AND, by the way... McQuaid is 7th in ES TOI per game of our D. Less than Pionk, DeAngelo, and Shattenkirk. He was a 3rd pairing D.

Yes the reward of him playing that game really outweighed the risk. of losing these picks.

Yep. As said, I'd re-sign him for cheap if he would take it. Zero negatives.
