I gave it a 100% chance that Tarasov would get the donkey last time. Wrong I was.

I give him a 200% chance tonite.

This team is so bad in OT. There is no one on this team that can out skate anyone in the league so it’s like they are just trying to get to a SO as soon as the OT starts.

I decided to check. The last time you posted anything that wasn't kvetching at the Jackets or the refs (mostly the Jackets) was in early October, when you tersely mentioned Mateychuk heading back to Cleveland during the preseason. Four and a half months ago.

How long are we going to have to wait for the next one?

Someone kept the receipts. ;)

Ladies, gentlemen, and et cetera. We just got goalied.

Both teams did.

Really though we had just a handful of scoring chances after the first period. Only about .6 xG in the final 45 minutes including OT. We had a problem with bouncing pucks and turning it over, and to correct that we just dumped it. Which would have been fine if we forechecked but we weren't doing that either. It was overly risk averse in my opinion.

Well, yeah, both teams did, but I don't really care about how the Rangers feel. :)

But while we're paying attention to both perspectives ;) I would note that the Rangers had similar problems. It was just messy all around. That and the Rangers struck me as being extremely assiduous on the backcheck.

Maybe he had to but Marchenko skating out of the offensive zone multiple times to reset was annoying.
He was kind of obliged, what with how 3v3 goes right now. The Rangers went through a similar in-and-out-and-in-and-out cycle earlier. I don't recall who exactly was carrying it for them at the time; my brain wants to say Panarin but I have no idea if that's even remotely accurate. (I mostly remember the Rangers fans present booing when we did it and cheering when the Rangers did. That annoyed me more than the resets.)

Honestly I can only recall two scoring chances for us, Werenski in OT, and a net front scramble in the first period.

They had a scramble as well and the two Zibanejad breakaways.

Was just a sleepy game. It happens

Ha I was thinking same re: Rangers fans.

There were several more than that. Both directions. It was sometimes exasperating but I'm not sure I'd call it sleepy. I'm not exactly an ice technician but I have no problem believing that that mess was an indicator that MSG needs to fix their ice.

There were some close up shots even early in the 1st and backyard pond hockey ice looked better. Not sure if they had some reason the ice wasn't up to normal standards today but that was exceptionally bad

Mears and Shelley did at one point mention that it'd been covered for a few Knicks games for, like, the last four days or something.
