The power went out here around 7:45pm last night. AEP claimed it'd be back up around half past midnight.
Them 7am.
Then 8am.
Then "Assessing Situation".
Then 2pm.
Then 3pm.

The current estimate is 5pm. There's about five or six electrical trucks plus two chippershredders down the street; one truck was, last I saw it, carrying a new utility pole. I'm not holding my breath.

EDIT: Power came back on at 4:15.

I always go to Florida for two weeks with my family, and we just got back. We've talked about in the future going the 2nd and 3rd week of August instead of the first two, looks like we made the right call this year.
