Last year, we started out OK in October. Not great but in the mix, then we lost 8 in a row in November and the season was over.

Looks like history is on the way of repeating itself

We still suck. The coaching is better but we just aren’t good enough yet.

Kings make it ugly but we had a good number of chances again (maybe more than the Kings). I think with a couple more bounces we have a "good road win", I'm not going to overthink it.

Labanc was really good, the fourth line had several good shifts.

The top six needs a reshuffle. Like I was saying Fantilli with Monahan and reuniting the Siberians ought to be tried.

I wouldn't mind seeing Labanc get a chance again on that 2nd line. His effort is a lot higher now than it was to start the year

I don't think work ethic has ever been an issue with Labanc since joining CBJ. Earlier he was losing battles and possession of the puck more often. He has a shorter reach and limited stickhandling skills which compel him to do quicker and simpler decisions with the puck, I think it might be just that he now has a better understanding of what the coaches want to see from him (straightforward checking game).

He's overthinking everything. Beating his head against a wall.

Doesn't overthinking imply that a player is aware of multiple play options but tends to hesitate decision-making? I'm not sure if he's processing the game at a level yet where overthinking becomes a real possibility.

I see his reads, scanning habits, and pass timing and execution as bigger problems currently. I wish he wasn't playing next to Sillinger who repeatedly seems to struggle at receiving and making clean passes. It may have a bad effect to his confidence.

I'm watching the game against Los Angeles. I can't help but be reminded of the song "Swimming Goose on the Danube (Plávala husička po Dunaji)", although I would have expected "Dance, dance, wiggle (Tancuj, tancuj vykrúcaj)".
