CBJ Fantasy Hockey Thread II (post fantasy / video game items here)

Was the goal to draft all 3 brothers and change your team name to “Hughes Your Daddy?” or “Hughes the Boss?” or some other pun?
Haha those are good but I don't suspect I'll ever change my team name.

As far as plan... it sure wasn't to draft Jack and Quinn at 10/11 but after I did I had thought to draft Luke also. Then completely forgot.

Please don't. that would be hughes for my punny team name..

Post draft analysis

When drafting deciding between 2 guys I went with the better +/-. so far my team is a collective -10 led by 1OA at -6. Yikes.:banghead:

I look forward to the day when fantasy hockey is no longer bound to arcane stats like +\- and instead uses progressive measures like adjusted projected expected goals for divided by the moon phases on the day the player was born.

Added Elvis to my fantasy team :badidea:
Switched to recorded Chicago PD down 2-0 :badidea:

Almost croaked when I checked score at 5-5:dunno:
Didn't turmn the game back on :dunce:
At least the CBJ (and Elvis) got the win :stanley:

Realized I somehow had Monahan on the bench last night :banghead:

Looking at the standings of the HF CBJ fantasy league and there are some obvious patterns:

If your avatar is a rabbit with a breakfast food on its head then you are doing well.

If your avatar is a hockey mask then you are middle of the pack.

If your avatar is an article of clothing then you are (as Jarmo would say) “retooling not rebuilding”.

It’s been years since I did well in the league. And to think I argued against the reset on multiple occasions, eh @EspenK?

Riveting 3/6 series between the Bunnies and Twins goes to the former as the Leafs get a win last night (they had both Toronto goalies) helping the Bunnies win the category and thus, the match up 6-5. What would've happened if a playoff ended tied?

Congrats to koteka for capturing the championship. Well played.

It was an interesting season. I felt like I bounced between the 2nd to 5th in points a lot as the season went on. My team got hot at the end of the season and into the playoffs which is exactly the right time for a team to get hot. One thing about fantasy hockey I like is you learn about good young guys. Two that I picked up during the season were Connor McMichael (26g 31a +19) of the Capitals and defenseman Jackson LaCombe (14g 29a +0) of the Ducks. I rode two goalies that had really good years (Kuemper and Hill) plus Pasta.

I had 2 Jackets (Boone who spent most of the season on IR and KJ) which is more than normal for me but maybe I had an idea the team was improving. KJ started the season only as a center, but then early on they made him a center, left wing, right wing which made him a good depth player to have on the roster in fantasy.

Thanks to our awesome league commissioner. That is a thankless job. The league is fun because it is really laid back and nobody gives up even if they are having a down year. I have done many fantasy leagues over the years (especially football). I look forward to this one because it is fun every year, even when all my guys get hurt and my team sucks. Thanks to everyone who participates for making it fun.

I can’t wait for next year.

I was out front all season until Jack and Quinn Hughes both got hurt. Then my season turned wrong at the same time the CBJ did.

Hughes bros out. Werenski and Fantilli dried up.
