If I can be objective for a moment and take off my hater glasses, he has got to stay if you want the program to survive. The NIL rules or lack their of make it so firing coach will cause an endless cycle because of all the money in it now. NIL has made college football the wild west
Fire. His. Worthless. f***ing. Loser. Ass.

Seriously, I grew up during the Cooper years. I was there for the Florida game. This was worse than all of those.

Fire his worthless f***ing loser ass.

I disagree. He's not going to ever beat Michigan and that is more important than anything. Ohio State will always have some of the most money in CFB. Honestly he may resign

I think OSU is done. Day is probably gone, players are gonna transfer out, players will decommit and there are no names out there for y'all to get. OSU is a sinking ship.

Forever as in a decade or 2. It's more because of the landscape of college football. They aren't getting a name and recruits won't come to an unknown, so the money is irrelevant.
I'm gonna agree to disagree. I doubt most hs kids in the south knew who Kalen DeBoer was before Bama hired him and now they have the number 1 recruiting class. Schools that have the history, resources, and fanbase/donors who care as much as Ohio State's does will always be relevant. Heck I think it is easier now with NIL. You can go buy a great roster. Before when there was a coaching change and subsequent transfers it took years of building a roster. Ohio State is also unique in that it is the biggest brand in the midwest - a lot less competition than SEC schools.

Don't say anything at all
This will be the first senior class to graduate without beating UM since 1994. For perspective, back in 1993 most televised Big Ten games were on the networks owned by Capital Cities, which merged with Disney in 1996. And the Big Ten cut ties with Disney after 2022.

Day has got to win the 'ship or he's toast. Vrabel would be a significant upgrade, if that's who the power brokers have in mind for a replacement.

OSU is done. They’re cooked if they keep Ryan Day and they’re cooked is they fire him. True purgatory.

They’ll still win their customary 8-10 games and lose to a great team or two in addition to Michigan. But they will never be true CFB title contenders in this current age of football.

Vrabel is not coming back to college football as much as ppl are clamoring for it. He’s an intense hardass and in today’s game kids will just leave bc of that.

Sure having fun watching folks celebrate tOSU's imminent demise. Really makes it easier to deal with bad news.
Went undefeated against them when I was on campus. Haven’t won since I left. I was there today. Absolute sickening feeling. I figured more people here were OSU fans. Guess not. But I now know to avoid this thread.

Huge Buckeye fan…just kept that separate from CBJ for some reason.
It always sucks the worst the late afternoon and evening of losing The Game. I wanted to cry, scream and puke all at once….maybe I actually did. I could somehow explain the prior 3 years, but yesterday just does not compute. My fear is that while Ryan Day gets himself, his staff and his players too jacked up for The Game to ever win it (testosterone contest instead of points on the board), I’m fearful of making a change at HC. Chip Kelley, on the other hand, has got to go for sure.

So to you and Viqsi, hang in there. You aren’t alone.

Is OSU really going to be able to hold a playoff game in late December?

You know since the stadium isn't winterized enough to be able to host a Winter Classic on January 1 or anything like that.

I keep telling my friends this. As romantic as Vrabel seems to some of the OSU fanbase I just feel like that's a disaster waiting to happen for those exact reasons. He's still in high demand in the NFL as well so it's debatable he'd want to coach in college.

They’ve been making preparations for this scenario thought out the year. Only issue that Ik of due to the cold from the Michigan game is some of the water lines that fed in the soda fountain machines froze. I know the ushers are pissed they have to work an 8pm game. Don’t blame them since they’re all 60+ and got spoiled by working so many noon home games lol

He’s an NFL coach through and through

Not to mention you can probably count on one hand the coaches who've been successful in both the NFL and NCAA (Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh ... and I'm out). Different strengths. Different mentalities. Different dynamics. Just because the game is still football and the title is still "head coach" doesn't make the jobs the same.
