Korpisalo is literally the worst goalie in the league going back to 16-17.Why do they keep coming back to him?
Dude is terrible. Try something else
Add the season ending hip surgery factor into this and I’m beyond shocked.Ok wasn’t expecting this
Honestly just expected him to be a future hawk to team with Lankinen as a Finnish tank duoAdd the season ending hip surgery factor into this and I’m beyond shocked.
I figured some other team would sign him, because it takes forever for a goalie’s reputation to die in this league, but Columbus out-dummied everybody else before anyone else could even get a chance.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t care about winningWell, he still has those bubble playoffs to point to I guess. I mean 1,3mil for 1 year, who cares? Not going to be an issue for the Jackets.
Whoever is backing up Columbus makes approximately zero difference on if they are winning or not.It doesn’t matter if you don’t care about winning
Just like every other year? The free agent goalie market this summer is trash.
He's probably amazing in the lockerroom, that's the only thing I can imagine. Because he's bad AF...Why do they keep coming back to him?

2020 had some decent tenders available, same with 21Just like every other year?
I’d rather he stay in CBJ than be a reclamation project for us, he stinks.was on my listed of possible Leaf backups if they completely redo their goaltending, which I expect them to do.

I thought he was gone

I hope this deflates the goalie market a bit.

And the other goalies there (Bob and Elvis) have managed to significantly outplay him and have had at least a league average save percentage every year since then. So there’s no argument whatsoever that this is a team symptom.
That’s an .897% in 151 games played. That’s all of his career minus his first 31 games in the league of .920% as a rookie. Nobody else has survived an .897% over the last 6 years and even stayed in the league.
At this point where he’s now UFA eligible, there’s entirely no reason whatsoever to bring him back. This is like a woman that badly needs to get away from her husband/boyfriend and finally gets her own place, then invites him over to stay the first night she’s moved in
