Not even mad. This is a team that is a mixture of old and journeymen.

Crosby and the names still have talent, and yes still compete, even fairly hard at times.

But, by coming back they chose to end their careers without another legit shot at a Cup.

They should be mentors on an up and coming team who has stockpiled firsts and need to learn to win.

But, they made their choices.

And I have made mine. To not get too excited or upset.

Man the previous two years I thought we would be good if they could just get anything from their bottom 6.

Without Malkin, that bottom 6 has now turned into the bottom 9.

But, they aren't tanking.

They are in this in between area that is going to last several more years.
No it won't. Sid as he ages will diminish, just like Geno has and Letang. There's gonna be a decided step downward UNLESS they got after a big time Free agent.

The Pens are in "The Steeler Zone" - bobbing just above or just below the playoff line year in and year out. Trying desperately not to sink to the ocean floor where the Pirates reside

Defeat from the jaws of victory.

You miss the playoffs by 1-2 points, you start to remember the "little things" like Rust missing that last second opportunity.

I'd love a reporter to ask Sullivan: "The shootout seems be a legitimate problem for this team. Any plans on actually practicing it?"

Sounds like Jaded wishful thinking.

They aren't diminishing enough to drop from the mediocre hell that they are in now. Injuries will rise most likely. But, there will always be just enough talent to remain around 14 to 20 in the draft.

No rebuild is happening until they hang them up.

Dubas needs to be weighing the trade options heavily because missing the playoffs by 2 points again should be the least acceptable result. If you actually want to get in, and it’s wide open, you gotta do something

Can we just get on with it???? It's the slow death that's pure BS

Obviously, the answer is no. For two reasons.

The generational names wanted to end their careers here.

And honestly they earned it in my book. So, I am fine with that.

And, the ownership wants to milk dollars off of their names for as long as possible. I am less fine with this, but I get it. I no longer pay the bills as my season ticket holder status lapsed a couple of years ago.

So, accept it.

We have two to four more years of this.
