Montenbault is not the future in nets and Dobes in not NHL ready after only one ok season in the AHL. Primeau will be around for at least this season in Montreal, maybe longer.

Primeau is not proven enough for that kind of value.

My prediction is that he'll get traded this summer for some mid/late pick and/or prospects if Dobes push hard enough and we sign Fowler and Miller.

They need a true #1 proven goalie. No sense in trading for another maybe.

Give whatever it takes and grab a true gem

Nobody ever trade a #1 proven goalie

It doesn't happen, unless in extremely rare occasions aka the Bob Trade

Edmonton best option is to find a young goalie prospect that is a diamond in the rough

Primeau doesn't have that kind of value and I don't think the Habs are ready to move him either. Pass from both sides.

I think we are, and I think the Oilers need a solid Plan B asap

I don't think he ends up the year in Montréal, as he's, IMO, the odd man here

Monty ain't the future, but he's the present (and the next 2 or 3 years) and I feel like Dobes is actually ready
I was mightily impressed by him this off season

I don't know if Edmonton would even claim Primeau off waivers, let alone pay a 2nd for him. And that isn't a slight on Primeau but rather the low value goalies generally have and him not really being an improvement on what they have.

No one to backfill for Dobes really in Laval, and he could use another full season in the AHL anyhow.

I guess I rather Dobes get some more AHL time as she had average at best start last year but ended the season on a real strong streak. He is only 23 I believe so one more year and being the first call up won't hurt him.

I guess it's valid too

Like, I'm ok keeping it, but I'm a huge fan of getting assets like picks

Edmonton as a need, Montréal as the merchandise so for me it's a natural fit

I think they do, I think that the second Primeau hit the waivers, a bunch of team are putting calls, and Edmonton is one of them

Edmonton window is open now. No reason to trade for a guy who’s just entered the league and still getting his reps in. Too unreliable
