We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.
What This Means for You:

This is the right call, he's been ECHL level this year.
Still have to figure something out long term, Dobes can't sit as a back-up too often. We also can't be one injury away from Hughes and two ECHLers playing for Laval.
I think in the Columbus game they mentioned that they were basically calling up their AHL goalie anytime they wanted the starter to rest. We might do something similar where we don't put Primeau on waivers, but whenever we want plan to play the backup we just call up Dobes, then after the game send him back down.
It's basically a way of having the AHLer be the teams backup without having him not play for long stretches. It really sucks for the NHL backup who basically is getting skipped over so probably not a long term option.

The Habs might lose him this way, but it's the right call.
Toronto has Stolarz coming back, Woll and Murray. With Hildeby and Akhtyowhatever in the Marlies.
Matt Murray might be an option but doubt they want Primeau back.
Philly and SJ, CLB has been faking it and there could be others.

I guess this means he has close to zero value right now, which is pretty sad for the guy. I really hope he'll be able to build his confidence back up.
If waive, I dont think he's gonna claimed but he should be. He's a way better than what we have seen.
I can't say I've ever been a huge believer in Primeau.
I thought we could have waiver wired his ass before last season with out too much worry.
Guess we can add Primeau to our long list of overhyped goaltending prospect busts

Its not a question of confidence, but of technique. Primeau plays the entire game on his knees. Once down, he has no mobility in the net. His technique may have some success in the AHL, but against NHL competition, it just doesn't cut it.
Matt Murray has played one game since April 2023, a .889 against the Sabres. I sure damn hope he isn't an option.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's claimed and wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep if it happens.

Fucale was the only one that was really like hey this guy could be a star even though he never really put up good numbers anywhere. Goalies are weird
I doubt he will be claimed. But both situations makes any difference for me.
Now official — as confirmed by MSL, Primeau will be waived and Dobes gets the start on Saturday vs Panthers.
