Prospect Info: Cayden Lindstrom

Demidov fits quite perfectly with our core and potentially helps solidify guys like Voronkov and Marchenko to stay here long term( not that I have many doubts about them staying)

I love the Lindstrom pick, but Demidov absolutely fits into the skill based lineup that's already been assembled.
For sure Demidov is optimal for success NOW. But are we trying to build a team that'll go for a run here and there or are we trying to make a team that continously strives for success? Yes, Demidov has a higher ceiling than KJ and will most likely become a star winger.

There are so many star wingers that this league produces but yet how many power fowards who can actually produce? Rantanen? Tkachuk? These are important pieces that you NEED for the playoffs. Nearly every draft year will have a high pedigree winger. In 2-3 years time Lindstrom will become a staple. And i'll glady eat my own words if im wrong.

What's so bad about having two KJs... Are we not discussing adding Marner for 13M? What would be so bad about adding someone similar on an ELC? Not that it matters anymore but still. Demidov is absolutely a core player that would more than likely create some absolute magic with KJ
Neither one of them are finishers. Yes KJ can score a few nice goals here and there but he is not a goal scorer and neither is Demidov. They're both playmakers who prefer to pass the puck to create opportunities. Demidov and KJ on a line would create ALOT of scoring chances but wont have anyone to convert on their chances (like marchenko for example). Marner makes sense because he would be giving exactly what marchenko nees to break that 100pt threshold. I'm not saying demidov would've been a bad pick per se. But it made more sense to pick what would compliment our core down the line.

Marner - Fantilli - Marchenko
KJ - Lindstrom - ????
sounds like a pretty physical and productive top 6 forward group. Wouldn't be getting killed out there like Tom Wilson was doing to Demidov and Hutson all series.

Seems like they were again holding him out as a precaution from that post gamer

I remain optimistic of his top end skills if he is to stay healthy, yet pessimistic he will ever reach those top end skills due to the injury.

Im not going to change my opinion one way or another and sitting on the bench isn't going to grow my level of pessimism. Or question his upside right now.

I think MH as much as anyone is trying to do what they feel is best for Lindstrom short and long term because I'd imagine they are also still trying to keep his services next year. Nothing is set in stone as far as we know and they'll still have McKenna (potentially) so I bet they are still making their own push for Lindstrom to return.

I thought portz confirmed he would be going to MSU? Or was that speculation? Also been seeing McKenna to Michigan speculations as well lately.

I kinda hope they both make their way to the NCAA for that higher level of competition.

I dont think anything was confirmed but seemed like they had a strong indication at the time, things can change until it's official. I wouldnt be shocked at all if he goes the college route but MH will probably do whatever they can for the player in the meantime

Portzline has confirmed he’s going to MSU. They’re just waiting for the end of the season to announce it.

I agree. Especially with all the high end talent they already have.
