Prospect Info: Cayden Lindstrom

Spokane definitely throwing a few of the typical low/mid back crosschecks and Lidstrom has yet to even acknowledge them. Seems like it's not even on his mind which is fantastic to see.

He's sought out some hits of his own too. I'm less concerned about the bumps, more concerned about if/when he'll get his burst back. When he left off I thought he was a really powerful skater. I'm not sure if he's skating gingerly or just needs the conditioning back, or if its more mental and needs some games to get the timing back.

He's definitely floating around more than normal, I'm thinking/hoping it's conditioning. We see guys miss training camp and fall behind the crowd nevermind missing a year and jumping into the finals.

Maybe he needs this game to turn nasty and pulled into it even more.

Edit: I came into this more concerned about his mindset and those bumps. We saw a guy like Chinakhov who to me clearly looked tentative. I dont know if he was playing in pain or scared of something going wrong but something was off either way. I had faith that a naturally aggressive competitor like Lindstrom would do ok with the mental side and I think he has. Just looks like a guy who hasn't played hockey in a long time right now but still looks a lot better than many of his teammates tonight

Really tough spot to just jump back in and he's performed as expected. Going to be rust and the time to get the finer points back. The fact he's back in a high octane position of the season and doesn't look tentative (to me anyway), I'm thrilled. Will be great to get that full year in Jr or NCAA next year and then work into the AHL/NHL the following year (I would assume one more year of non-pro hockey, maybe 2 if NCAA?)

I thought I remember reading he was working on a skating change to take pressure off his back, could have something to do with it besides the conditioning.
