I have a strange obsession with Mackinnon’s performance in late zone draws lately. I don’t know if anyone else is noticing but the guy violently puts his body through the dot and straight up refuses to lose when the game is on the line.

I noticed that a game or two ago as well. He won something like 5 draws in a row by falling onto the puck and pulling his entire body back to get it.

Good. Evenly played hockey game, both teams had their chances, neither team looked bad. Hard working all night, Avs hit three posts - all high blocker - and a fourth post that went in also high blocker before Toews got his 2nd for the winner.

Great game, and seeing Lauren again reminded me of what a great set of personality she has.

Cale sounds like he's battling a bug, so that makes sense. But MAN what a freeing feeling it is to have a goaltender you can rely on consistently. I can only imagine how that locker room feels. It's been nearly a month since the trade now and I don't think he could be faulted for a single one of his losses. He's been a season-altering addition.

I'm sure he'll regress a bit, but I think he can be a top 10 goalie in this league.

What I liked most about Blackwoods game was that the first half of the game was very quiet, very few shots, but he made saves on chances despite the lack of shots.

I think that was one of the things spoken about him, that he needed volume to perform.
