Well, it’s not Robinson’s job to get the guy behind the net. That looked very much like Nikishin’s guy. He looked like he got caught playing zone.

I think Nikishin had followed his man up high and Robinson followed his down low but then drifted in front of the net instead of staying towards the post and Nikishin was slow to come back.

Non negotiable that Daniels the yes man is gone and someone is hired to help him run the PP. Another playoff run where it let's them down.

I mean, 0 players in front of goalie during PP is not a key to success? Color me ill-informed then.

Need to rid themselves of KK, Ghost, and hold onto the young talent. Nikishin was exposed tonight and Freddy has in game strokes for moments that cost them the game. Rod doesn't know he can pull the goalie or call a timeout during quick goals against. Need way more depth on D.

I will commend the team for going further than expected and getting 9 playoff wins with 4 of them on the road.

That said, finishing the year with 99 points isn't going to get you MC2 most years. Gotta shoot for 100 or more.

Roster-wise, the UFAs can either walk or retire. No reason to bring them back. KK needs to go. I'd be fine with Ghost departing too, he's on the decline it looks like. Please don't give bottom 6ers a 6 year deal. If there's a better goalie deal out there, look into it.

Coaching-wise, it's past time Daniels is gone. Should have happened last year. Get someone outside Rod's buddy system to help with the PP, get someone who can help with better roster decisions, get someone who can help them develop a scoring touch.

Today’s loss was on the PP. another year another PP that can’t do it in the playoffs. That needs to be #1 priority overhauling it this offseason. It’s not a roster problem either. Pathetic way to end it with multiple PPs that could’ve easily won us this game.

It's roster and strategy. No net front presence is a roster issue since we don't have anyone with both size and hands. And then other team adjusts and they don't adjust back.

3-3, panthers get a wide open net through Barkov's strength, size and skill, Verhaege burries it

That's the difference right there. And not much you can do about it. Verhaege was waiver wider fodder when the Panthers got him and he became a 70 point player. Bennett was Kotkaniemi in Calgary. Reinhart was a passable second line center worth a late 1st and nothing prospect. Good for the Panthers fortune, they deserve it too, sucks its not us

Jarvis looked like the right side of his face was swollen pretty good in the interviews after last game. May have been from the game before.

Honest question, did you have some interaction with freddie that went poorly or something? You seem overboard negative about him even compared to some of our most notoriously unhappy posters.

He has had his bad times, but none of the goals tonight (or in game 2, come to think of it) were on him at all.

No judgment - everyone has a player from time to time they just hate. My sister still laughs about how much i hated david tanabe. Just wondering if there was some story. If not, i'll just assume he poured poison in your father's ear then married your mom.

It will be nice to see Roslovic in another jersey, and I repeat my "meh" reaction about the Taylor Hall signing. Was such a non factor and who could forget his -7 this playoffs?

At least the Canes did not lie like dead cats like they did the first three games when the Cats did a quick strike. That's a real sign of progress to me, regardless of the end result.

I told my sister before the game that I thought Florida was going to win because all three of their players were back and Walker and Chatfield were still not cleared to play. You can't beat a team as loaded as Florida in the postseason playing two rookie defensemen. Nikishin lost both Rodrigues and Verhaeghe on the tying and winning goals. Oh well, it is what it is. Regardless, it was a great season for us.
