Player Discussion Casey Mittelstadt

Kinda wish he had better wingers to work with. (Although I've thought Vinni has played pretty good since being called up again)

Hope Mitts can play like this over a full 82 game season. Thought he's looked good all over the ice his first 2 games
Wouldn't mind him getting a look with Pasta. Lines are a mess right now but the play last night was something to build on.

he wasn`t always blessed with the best wingers in Colorado either, had some time with Drouin but was mostly with Miles Wood/Ross Colton

He`s a little vanilla in the sense he`ll not use his body to separate a player from the puck but he`s not afraid to go into the corners from the two games I`ve now watched him play

Hope he hits his groove here.
Should have 3 points in 2 games. Already more impressive than Coyle, not to forget the prospect and pick that came with him. Hoping in this draft that DS puts a premium on players who can stay on their feet while battling for the puck! We got rid of a couple of habitual fallers at the TD but we still have a few remaining, so hopefully that will be a attribute that our brainiacs will seek out.

He's the type of mid-range offensive play making center I wish they got last summer. He may have some flaws defensively, but he will help with the production up front.

Hard not to be impressed with his play so far in Boston, no one questions his talent. If he can play consistently like this the Bruins offseason plans got easier.

So far so good. Making smart plays, being a catalyst for a lot of offensive opportunities. Hopefully that consistency remains. If so he will be miles better than Coyle

Bruins second line will be interesting next season

Gotta figure out who’s playing RW

Elias Lindholm.

He can still take face-offs. Compensates for Mittlestadt's weakness in the middle in the face-off dot. Wing allows him to get in on the forecheck more and that is something Lindholm can be very effective at he's a good body-checker, ask Mattias Ekholm. Sturdy wins puck battles.

Less defensive responsibility maybe we'll see more of Lindholm's offensive game come to light. Played a fair bit of RW early in his career.

Also frees up a center ice spot for Poitras or Minten.

Whatever it is they've been doing this season ain't working.

I like the kid so far. Good hands and makes plays with purpose… he’s a smart player. Doesn’t waste time. Loved how he took it to the net along the goal line during last nights powerplay, which almost led to a goal. It was there and he read it. Wanted to see more of that from Marchand in that same spot… he had that open a lot this year and didn’t always execute it. The powerplay looks better because of guys like him who are keeping it I simple.

“Doesn’t waste time” is the best, most succinct description of his play I’ve seen yet.

This is looking like a major coup.
