All he said was that MacKinnon credited Mittelstadt for having a good series, not that he won it all for them. But fair enough

I find it hard to argue against Nichushkin being the one who drove the bus that series anyways. He was an uncontainable monstrosity
Middlestadt being able to match up against Scheifele and win those matchups turned the tide in that series. Nuke on the PP was a factor, and obviously Mackinnon and Makar drive the bus, but without 2nd line production that series maybe doesn't go your way. I think that's what Mackinnon understood by his impact, when he was crediting him, because that was the first name he threw out.

That’s kind of where this is. A lot of teams aren’t happy with their C depth. This environment suggests a lot of 2Cs are struggling. Maybe it comes down to fit with some of them?
I think that's well summarized. Mitts has shown that he can be 2C, he can play a good possession/board heavy game, and he's an exceptional playmaker. However, I think the Avs system highlights his weaknesses and wears him down so that his strengths are hindered as well. I could see Mitts doing really well in a possession/cycle team that has less emphasis on just skating as fast as you can. In the ideal world the Avs are able to find a match with a team where they have a similarly aged 2C who works better off rush chances but plays in a predominantly cycle/possession system.

We'll see what this break does for him.
I won't say I'm confident he'll be what he was when he first arrived, but it is too early to completely write him off and go full RyJo on him like many in the HFAvs community are.

Seems reasonable enough, although Colorado might be looking for a more roster ready player.

With the emergence of Casey, would there be any appetite for a Colton based trade for Nemec or is that completely off the table?
Casey has mixed results from our fans.
Some think he's better than Nemec, some say no way. I wouldn't give up either D man for Ross. It be a future's deal from me or lesser prospect(s)/pick(s)

Would Avs fans consider Coyle? I don’t think he’s fits the mold of that ‘play with speed, score off the rush type of game’ but he’s very reliable defensively and can dominate puck possession when he wants.

I also think timeline wise it works better for Colorado. 1.5 years left on Coyle gives them exactly next year to get Ritchie acclimated before he takes it over.

I can’t really think of anything else that would make sense for Boston unless it’s a swap of some sorts

It’s hard to imagine the Avs being interested in Coyle.

Personnaly, I would like Marchand and not someone else. I would extend him a bit and obviously, I would have to find a way to make another deal for a center.

Middlestadt still has value but is it equal to what the Sabres got for him - Byram?
Very unlikely. At this point only way they “win” trading Byram for Mitts is if they are able to flip mitts for a struggling player who blossoms in Colorado.

I also don’t think most Avs fans are concerned about winning trades as long as we get players that fit what we need. They have a solid core, if healthy and clean, but greatly lack secondary pieces that fit what they are looking for.
