Having both the best MN HS player of the last 20 years and the best MN college player of the last 20 years on the Wild would be cool.

Bruins fans want Carlo gone because he is in an odd-numbered year.
Every other year Carlo gets his bell rung(concussion) and his mental decisions suffer for a long time. It takes him a year to get back to playing sound hockey again. At the start of this season there was one, maybe two high hits on him that you could see immediately affected him. Since then his hockey IQ has dropped and has only very slowly started to recover over the past 2 months. I would say this is all my speculation if it had not happened 3 times before in his career.

He will be much improved next season and off the Bruins fans "Must trade" list.

Heard this song before.

As for Mittlestadt: I don't see him as any upgrade in any area unless he is coming in to replace a 3rd line winger. Which means we are not giving up anything for him worth Colorado fans talking about here. I don't see any larger deal unless the Avs want a package around Coyle which will be for prospects and futures. Poitras makes Casey not only redundant but blocks his growth playing with the big club. Again, if Mittlestadt is traded for it will be a smaller deal to get a winger for Poitras. Even then I really don't see this happening. I don't see a fit.

I did a double-take when I saw Boston listed as an interested party.

It's actually not. No one on this website knows the ins and outs of any NHL front office. Please stop thinking it's anything other than your own speculation.
I think it's common knowledge the big dogs sign off Whats the point in layers if they don't ?

Shanahan, Yzerman , Sakic , Neely Gorton ...etc

Add Rutherford to the list. The young GM does the grunt work. But the guy above him (president or whatever title given) makes the final decision. Plus, he connects with ownership on the big deals. The Middlestadt deal wouldn’t need to go higher than Sakic though.

Signing off on something and making the decisions are two different things. That’s like saying the king of England makes all the decisions for cananda

Sakic probably helps set the strategy.

Cmac: we need a C
Sakic: I agree let's get a young C that doesn't suck
Cmac: so I traded for this Mittelstadt guy
Sakic: did you forget the doesn't suck part?

Very true. I’d imagine Rutherford and sakic are the real puppet masters. And trades like JTMiller and Rantanen, not only presidents would be involved, so would ownership. Trades or signings, the big tickets have ownership involved in some way.

I wonder if Sakic would consider a player like Zegras for Middlestadt? Would he ask his GM to pursue that?

You surely have some evidence to back this up, do you?

...yup...President of Hockey Ops, says it right in the title...no decision is made without THE BOSS, same as with ANY team that has a President of Hockey Ops...Shannahan, Rutherford, Gorton, etc... :teach:

Sakic puts himself on a position to be a succesfull hero inside and outside the ice and has won a safe position on top for the rest of his lige. He shouldnt put on discussion for the good or bad moves anymore.

Back to thread. Trade Mittlestadt and invest on Evans, then resign him long term. Have a shot on Primeau on the process.

Evans is a bottom 6C through and through. We need a 2C. Evans is not that. And why do we want Primeau?

Evans is just a jack of all trades,, long term 3C, top NHL PKer, can play 2C replacement without hurting you. Just a Pageau / Danault type of player.

Primeau is low low risk high rewards, not claimed on waivers then great in AHL, not on Montreal future plan anymore. Great project
