Seravalli: Casey Mittelstadt - Boston, Calgary, Minnesota interested

Kadri back to Colorado makes a lot of sense to be honest.
He makes some money (7M) but he's still a top 6 centre with all the intangibles still. He was a big part of that Avs win a couple years back.

Calgary just stinks. Like our defence is God awful.
We have 2 waiver wire pickups playing every night, with one of them playing top 4 minutes (don't get me wrong, the other one Pachal is great). We just brought up a 24 year old AHLer and immediately played him in our top 4.

The only reason we're 'in it' is because Wolf has played out of his mind this season. And even he's sort of coming back to earth which is making us lose in spectacular fashion.

The GM has stated we're 3-5 years away, and Wolf only progresses it a little faster, meaning by the time even this management team sees us back to being a regular playoff team Kadri's contract will expire.

Marchand can play Center and Winger. He can easily he the 2C in Ava decide to go for it.
Does he really or did he play center 20 years ago in junior. i watch the bruins fairly regularly and don't remember him playing center for like, an entire year or something like that.

This seems like an interesting swap to me.

Zacha has a lot of traits that seem well suited to that Avs system. Big, fast, direct. Mittens has some more nifty hands and maybe just a little more east-west skill in general, which probably contrasts better with what Boston has a lot of these days.

It's funny to me though, how quickly Mittelstadt was anointed a "high end 2C" not too long ago, only for people to realize...he is in fact, still kind of a middle-six "tweener". Though the Bruins right now have a lot of "tweeners" and could probably even use a guy who leans more toward the skilled side of that equation. However...the prospect of being kind of "locked in" to a three-headed Lindholm/Mittelstadt/Coyle type set of options as top Centers seems...bleak. Especially with some of the $$$ and Term involved.

Coyle only has one year left, but yeah, that ain’t it.

Pasta would probably light a bag of poop on Sweeney’s door step if the Bruins moved Zacha, don’t see it happening.

Can’t see a Kadri swap unless Calgary is 4-5 points back by the deadline tbh. I’m not very high on Mitts but it’d still be a deal that makes sense for the Flames with Kadri likely only having a couple years of solid play left in him

Kadri will be 35 in October - he’s playing at a 28-goal 60 point pace.

He’s a fantastic skater, he’s only 185 lbs and he doesn’t have any major leg injuries.

If he were UFA on July 1, he’d get more than the 4/$28M he’s owed.

I can’t see him being worse than a #3C in the next four years - he’s in excellent shape and he’s too good.

Matt Cullen played until he was 41, and Kadri is better than Matt Cullen.

He's not a center at all. He's strictly LW. That poster needs to open a window to let the paint fumes out.

Maybe with a futures package to Calgary

Kadri

For

Richie
Carolina 2nd
Miles Wood
Ross Colton

Lehkonen- MacKinnon- Neĉas
Frederick- Kadri- Nichushkin
Landeskog- Drury- Drouin
Kiviranta- Kelly- O'Connor

Toews- Makar
Girard- Carlo
Manson- Malinski

Ross Colton, an American from New Jersey, has a full NTC and there’s probably a 0.01% chance he would waive to go to Calgary.
