Avs have liked Zacha in the past. Could see them being interested in him for a swap still.

I actually think Mittelstadt would do extremely well in Boston fwiw.
As a Bruins fan, I really hope the Bruins stay away from Middlestat, he is overrated and really not what their team needs, they have plenty of middle 6 types already. They should be sellers at the deadline, Coyle, Carlo, Frederic, Korpisalo, Brazeau, Beecher and Marchand can all go for the right prices for each.

Where did Seravelli say the bruins were interested? Not doubting it, it makes sense given our needs I just haven't seen it anywhere.

Aves letting Kadri go unsigned to keep EJ and Manson. Then trading Byram for Mitts. Then Mitts for Kadri.

Masterclass in how to sink a cup contender.
That would be funny

I think it was an ass udio/radio comment

there is ROR..........

Boston already has 8 centers on their roster now, no doubt they want to add more.

I'm not being sarcastic I'm serious. They are obsessed with collecting centers thinking that any center can play on the wing and the face-off should be taken by the forward on his strong side as often as possible.

It's a flawed approach but Boston coaches and management are clueless.

...best Montreal could offer the Avs for Mitts would be futures & picks, which could help you find a 2C elsewhere but I doubt the Avs would be interested...

People are saying he doesn't fit with the Avs because he doesn't have the speed and skating to fit a Bednar team and you want a MSL team to trade for him?

He will be a good buy low candidate for somebody. His season went off the rails after a promising start and once Bednar starts burying you, you are pretty well cooked. But it’s not like he hasn’t shown good play in Colorado. And he was legit excellent last year.

He will be a really solid #2 center for somebody but the Avs have likely turned Byram into a big question mark because they certainly aren’t getting a 24 year-old potential top pairing defender back at this point.

But if I need a #2 center who is still pretty young and potentially available for $0.80 on the dollar, I’m definitely hitting the Avs up about CM.

i just dont see how Mittelstadt is a significant improvement over what Calgary currently has... Kadri, Zary, Sharangovoch, and now Frost.
Why would Calgary be interested in giving up assets to make a trade that likely won't make a difference

In total disagreement, Middlestat is the kind of player that the Bruins don’t have and need baddely, and the only players of top 6 caliber are old Marchy, Pasta and maybe Zacha, the rest is definitely bottom 6. If this kind of player is available on the market, the Bruins must keep a close eye on everything. I agree that they must make a retool and trade all their UFA and RFA except Lohrei, added to this we must offer to all nhl teams Coyle, Carlo and Korpisalo

Is he even a true center? His faceoff numbers are terrible.
He's a true center.

His FO #'s were hovering around 47% before this year. Not great but plenty of good centers are around that mark or worse. Certainly not a strength but fine.

He's slumping right now and also can't get out of his coach's doghouse but people are writing him off way too quickly. He's a good player, plays a good two-way game and was excellent in both Buffalo last year, in Colorado in the playoffs last year and for the first month this year (he was around a PPG at the 20-game mark, playing big minutes, there was even a main board thread about how well he was playing) with the Avs before he just found himself spiraling. Sometimes you just get into a funk.

He needs a reset - somebody is going to get a very good center, a guy who can definitely be a #2C, for way less than they should here.

Two underperforming centers that could rebound with a new team? I think Lindholm has a bit more overall skill and ability and that's compensated by taking on the larger contract.

It would be absolutely horrible for Colorado.

4 years older, making $2M more, signed for 4 years longer... For a guy with significantly worse production over the last 2 years.

Colorado would literally be taking on all of the risk in the deal.

Id kill to have Kadri back, but take off a mil or two.

Nah I think if the Avs want the better player they’ve gotta deal with the contract in its entirety. It’s easy enough to buy out in the last couple years

Still don’t see the flames doing it unless they fall out of the playoff race
