The fact that all neutral fans agree that this should not be a suspension really shows how biased the league, refs, and DOPS are towards McDavid and the Oilers. If this were any other player, this wouldn't be a conversation.
All players should be treated equally.

If there are any suspensions coming out of this, it is an absolute farce.
Except thats not remotely true.

DOPS aren't biased to the Oilers at all and McDavid and other stars get ignored all the time. Hell the refs aren't biased towards the Oilers at all, Oilers had one of the worst penalty differentials in the league this year.

Refs and DOPS sucks period. Thinking there is some league wide bias for some teams (especially the Oilers) is ridiculous.

Marchand punch to face didn't look vicious ..no one really even see it til days later. Bennett disguised it well since there still isn't much evidence to make a case that it was deliberate.
This was clear assault from Zadorov and Soucy after the game was over.
People saw it and perhaps when a player gets injured and leaves the game DOPS should at least have a look? What the hell do they get paid for it not?

Marchand was wobbly when he got up, it was clear it wasn’t from a hit to the chest.

DOPS continues to be useless.

Not surprised you didn’t see it though considering you think McDavid slashed Soucy’s shin…

Yeah, that's gotta be a suspension.

Can't be cross checking the golden boy in the teeth accidental or not and expecting anything

If that play involved the leafs, one of the following players would have taken care of it:

Benoit
McCabe
Domi
Bertuzzi
Reaves
Knies
McMann
Edmundson

But three Oilers skated away with their tails tucked between their legs.

They don’t hit, they don’t fight, they don’t play physically at all really. Edmonton is dead last in hits for teams still in the playoffs. Their depth can’t score, so why aren’t they playing physically at least?
Your core has no toughess, grit whatsoever. Doesn't matter if you're getting some kind of toughness from guys who hardly sees ice time.

No one saw the sucker punch on Marchand and even then with gloves on it was as bad as getting a cross check to face getting your neck snapped back after being shoved forward and going down from a suspendable crosscheck from an unsuspecting goon after the final buzzer
Comically delusional take.

Marchand was a sucker punch. And like...there are camera angles to see it after the game, as if you can't get suspended if no one see it at the time. Get real.

Soucy was trying to give McButtersoft a shove in the chest during some scrumming (that McPissbaby instigates) and accidentally gets him in the head because McCrumple is so butter soft he folds over from a shove in the back. Conveniently you ignore an Oiler sticking a guy in the nuts, again, which is again, far dirtier. Typical though from the Oilers.
Make all the excuses you want as to why this happened - at the end of the day Soucy cross-checked another player in the face AFTER THE FINAL WHISTLE.

This should be a multi-game suspension.
Laughably bad take.

There have been no suspensions for far dirtier incidents this playoffs. Soucy is getting a game because it's McBabys*** and the Oilers have to cry to the league any time he's brushed.

It's not even that I'm annoyed that they're considering discipline, just that they're considering it for Soucy instead of Zadorov.

THAT would be understandable if they were trying to use the reasoning of "protecting the players".

If they suspend Soucy, then f*** it suspend McDavid for the same as him, and Zadorov for longer than both, lol.
Thats where I am at as an Oilers fan. What was happening between Soucy and McDavid is honestly super common. McDavid only got the stick to the face cause Zadorov is acting like a prick.
Zadorov a 1 game suspension.
Soucy and McDavid nothing or fines.

That should be the outcome but it won't cause the DOPS wheel went this way.

Yeah I’ll just run over to my AV editing suite and compile up a reel for you.

LOL.
I don’t know what you don’t just admit that your comment was a hilarious hyperbole. McDavid’s slash after the game has ended clearly isn’t something that happens every game, or even close to it.

Soucy initiated. He pushed first. You can't just ignore the first push/cross check from Soucy if you are going to accuse someone of instigating.
That push literally happens 100x a game though. Literally every net mouth scramble has at least 2 or 3 of those during play and after the whistle.
That "push" is nothing.
Sure it is definitely what starts everything, but it hardly merits the response it got

The Bennett punch to Marchand was a clear as day sucker punch to a guy coming in with speed. It doesn’t get much more vicious than that.

Marchand can spend his recovery time reflecting on all the garbage he pulled over the years, but the league not suspending on that play is atrocious.

As a neutral fan, and considering the things they've let go in this series and other, if Soucy get's suspended, it's a joke.

Oilers getting away with assault left and right, but as soon as someone touches the golden boy, its a suspension for the rest of the playoffs? Oilers about to overtake Vegas for being least like-able team in the league with their constant whining and Reff-oilers.
An Avalanche fan complaining about a team getting beneficial reffing is absolutely wild.

Two guys two handing each other? Happens all the time.

Why don’t you compile for me all the cross checks to the face that don’t result in additional punishment?

A push means you have free reign to go full lumberjack on somebody, lol. Does being a fan of team whine and dive do something to people's ability to think?
Lumberjack? Oh come on, take the homer glasses off. He hardly even hit him, there were worse slashes and cross checks during the game that the refs don't care about at all.

Vancouver fans of all fanbases accusing others of whining and diving is absolutely ridiculous. Your team has been among the worst for diving for 25 years.

Bad look on the NHL again. Sick of them playing favourites. McDavid starts it with his best Mickey Mantle impersonation, and walks away a free man. Yikes
How so????

Saucy cross checks McDavid first then McDavid responds with a slash, saucy responds with a slash, then Zadorov (who should be the one deciplined more than Saicy) cross checks him from behind into saucy who cross checks him in the face(which would have been in the chest). It’s quiet simple if you watch the footage
