We've been through much worse, folks. We'll get through this.

It's worse this time around, because instead of giving us hope in a season before ultimately flushing it away, this time, they lulled us into a false sense of security by being successful last season. Hell, even their off-season was hard to criticize.

It's a multi-seasonal setup for the worst joke of all time.

I haven't really followed this team much this year. I told myself it's because I've been busy or otherwise occupied, but I think the truth is that I saw this coming. I knew they couldn't have sustainable success, year after year, because that's something that other teams do. But they're not other teams. They're the Canes.

And as we've already established, Canes gonna Cane. They're literally so predictable that this stretch of play could have been seen from the minute the schedule was set.

Maybe it won't get the Canes out of the funk they're in... And maybe there's larger problems with the team..but it's MY whipping boy and it's certainly getting to the point where, for my own continued mental health, I need to vent a bit, so here goes.

What on earth is RBA thinking? It's getting F*£$€ing ridiciulous already! Isnt it goddamned time already to pull the offensive black hole that is Foegele off Aho's wing? How many more times do I have to watch him kill any and all attempts to begin a cycle play in the offensive zone, how many times must I watch him turn the puck over while trying to force himself through 3 defenders, how many times must I watch him whiff on a grade AAA+++ scoring chance created by Aho? What has he done to earn a season ticket on the wing of our first line center? How much can a good pre-season and a few points in the early games lift a guy, really? He is not an offensive top-6 forward for crying out loud, we need to get Aho going and it's not going to happen like this, and soon there's gonna be frustration and a metric ton of other negative feelings in the locker room and the crowds will start getting smaller and the motivation will go down and the bandwagoners will drop off and the team wont make the playoffs and this whole winter's gonna be in vain and I cant take going back to long off-seasons again. DO SOMETHING ALREADY!

I though those three had looked dangerous since they were put together.

Yeah they've looked dangerous at times, no doubt about that. I really feel that's in spite of Foegele though, not because of any of his contributions. Those dangerous rushes have a habit of ending the moment Foegele gets in on the play. I see him turning the puck over way too much, whiffing on shots, not being able to control crisp passes from his linemates and missing with his own passes. He's a good forechecker and skater and gets an A for effort and sometimes scores on the rush because of those abilities, but doesnt have much of a vision or creativity in the o-zone, which really would be a requirement to play with Aho. How many times have you seen the line have extended o-zone time? Feels like it's just dangerous looking one-offs with no hope of getting a cycle going. He's in way over his head. I don't understand why RBA moved Nino off the first line the moment he started to score and seemed to be getting back on track with Aho.

But anyway, it's just my pet peeve and my view might be distorted 'cause I just dont really like the guy for whatever reason. The whole team's infected by stick-gripping and trying to do too much at this point.

It sucks but the Big Rig has a good perspective.

We need to shake things up

-Goat, Fleury and Ned playing

-Drop Staal to 3rd line
Nah I'm good on Alex "Sub-Darling Save % in the AHL" Nedeljkovic. . He's certainly not an answer. Neither is Gauthier or Fleury, though I do agree Fleury deserves a shot over pylon Edmundson but Brindy obviously hates him so it's not happening.

It's simple... Our best players have to start being good again. We're going nowhere with our top players playing like they are.

I would like to see Slavin and Pesce back together to play more of a shutdown role especially vs 1 line teams. I say that fully aware that would mean a Gardnier Hamboy 2nd pair.
I’ve never fully understood the need to break up what was once the only really good thing we had. They play better together, I think Pesce has grown since they split up but I don’t feel Slavin has to be honest. He’s plateaued during his time with Dougie, though maybe that’s just life or maybe that’s life with Dougie if you’re Slavin. Either way, he doesn’t seem bad at all but he hasn’t seemed to be as consistently amazing the last two years. Gardiner has been playing the third pair mostly anyways so he wouldn’t have to be with Dougie. Edmunson might be a great partner for 19.

I mean, not really. If anything, it’s patronizing to try and placate a fanbase that’s justifiably upset at how the season has gone by using an outlier. One can point at the Blues and say “It’s never over”, but that would ignore the HUNDREDS of other teams over the years that start the season poorly and ultimately miss the playoffs because of it.

“Here’s two dozen examples of why you’re misinformed compared to your one example of why you’re right.“ It’s anti-vax logic apply to hockey.

Agree. I would go

Slavin-Pesce
Edmundson-Hamilton
Gardiner-TVR

play Slavin-Pesce 25 min/ night. Tell Edmundson that his job is to cover for Dougie so don’t make any stupid pinches.

I’d also stop trying to find some untapped offens from Staal that Brindy seems to think he has. He’s a great shutdown guy, use him that way.
