It’s very frustrating watching H Fleury be, well, Hadyn Fleury, while they have a guy like Bean in the minors. Would love to see Bean up to help out the PP and, you know, maybe actually make a decent breakout pass...

2-0 is certainly uphill, but Fleury hasn’t been great this year.

Allow me to replay the lead-up to goal in my mind and why I believe I deserve some credit.

Shots were 4-4 at one point, next I noticed, they were 13-4. Then I noticed Marc-Andre Fleury doing some warm-up exercises in between faceoffs. I thought to myself, "if this was the Canes dominating play, Tripp would be making a big deal about the next shot on our goalie and how tough it is to go so long between shots." I continued to myself, "if we can just get *a* shot on Fleury, it has a chance to go in."

You're welcome.

Usually players on a UFA contract year play lights out, except canes' players. E. Staal, Ferland, and now Haula are leaving millions on the table. The last player I remember that played fantastic on the contract year here was Semin.

And we're literally *still* paying for that half-season.

I dunno about you, but I like it when a UFA makes our decision really easy.

Turbo from goddamn Mars

That went in because you whined about his shot.

Oh, and finally about Fleury. All of our defensemen are required to join the offense, make a good first pass, and keep tight gaps in the neutral zone. That's not Fleury's game. Fleury is a classic stay-at-home guy who's basically allergic to the puck. I think we'd be doing him a favor to get him to Anaheim, Winnipeg or Detroit or another club that prefers their defenders to defend and leave the scoring to the forwards.

I remember one guy who played for Anaheim complaining that on each defense pairing, there was one guy who was the outlet, and one guy who was the defenseman. When the defenseman got the puck, his *job* was to get it to the other guy. He was *not* to attempt a breakout pass. I know Maurice does something similar.
