A trade to maybe help both sides in the long term.

Carolina

Justin Faulk - I know that he is a great player but he probably brings back the most value in trade and he opens a spot for Trevor Carrick who I think will adequately replace Faulf a PP quarterback.

Elias Lindholm - Talented player but starting to have a Yakupov vibe to him. He is young enough for the Leafs to take a shot and see if a change of scenery makes a difference

Bryan Bickell - Leafs flex their financial muscle and take the salary of Bickell for the final year.

Toronto

Nazem Kadri - A solid 2-3 centre who has offensive ability and has embraced a shut down role this year. Similar contract to Faulk but an extra year.

Kasperi Kapanen - I think he is going to be a really good player in the NHL but to get a great player like Faulk you have to give up quality.

Jeremy Bracco - A high skilled player who is having a good year in the OHL. Leafs have a lot of these so giving up Bracco is a little easier to swallow.

Conditional 2018 2nd Round Pick - A second round pick if Lindholm scores 45+ points in the 2017-18 season or a third if he does not.

Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing you are a Leafs fan. This will get locked quickly. That offer gets ridiculed for Faulk alone

Not enough from toronto

I would actually hold on to our pieces here.

I'm not sold on Lindholm and while Faulk is great, I don't think that's who the Leafs need right now.

We need a couple of really solid vet D-men. Also, I'd rather hold on to Kadri and Kapanen.

I don't think the Canes pull trigger on this deal - defensemen historically have more value than forwards

I would be inclined to think:

Faulk>>Kadri
Lindholm>Kapanen + deplorables

Bickell is pointless - he's done at the end of the season.. It's not like you're taking on a player with salary that's detrimental.

The conditional pick really nails down the lolz here.

As others have said, Faulk starts with Marner or Nylander. OP is bad and you should feel bad.

Agree that this deal isn't enough for Carolina to even consider, but if the offer was Kapanen, Bracco and a conditional 2nd for Lindholm Carolina takes it in a heartbeat and thanks us for our generosity

Maybe in true value, it's a win for the Leafs. But who plays centre for Leafs if Kadri departs? You only have Matthews and Bozak. One guy gets hurt and the Leafs are really depleted at centre.

Looks like Carolina isn't going where this year again. Maybe a trade they should make it Faulk for a multiple good young cheap guys on ELCs, Carolina is weak on the wings. Not saying this type of deal would have, an I'll leave the Leafs "prospects" as example.

Faulk for Dermott, Carrick, Kapanan, Johnson. I think the cap strapped Hawks might find a partner at the end of the year in Carolina. Panarin for Bean, Hayden and something else.

Your Faulk deal is even more terrible. If the Canes are dealing Faulk it is for a surefire 1st liner similar to the Taylor Hall or Ryan Johansen deal. It will not be for a collection of B prospects.
