Too many tampa players alone behind our defence. Winning goal happens after svech just gives the puck back to Tampa for no reason. Time for change. One of svech or Necas needs to go. Maybe both of them.

Christ how do we keep giving up on our own net front? The offense is so gd dull you'd think we would overcommit on D, especially WITH LESS THAN A MINUTE TO GO, but no. As someone else said, thank goodness the rest of the division -- for now -- is pants, otherwise we'd be looking up at more teams. But hey there's still time for that!

The fact of the matter is, all 3 goals against came within 5 feet of the net by a Tampa player that was completely uncovered. How in God's green earth does that happen?
Because we're easily one of the softest and least physical teams in the league...we simply do not hit and we don't push anyone out of the way in the defensive zone

KK just doesn't have it in him and Necas can't carry KK and Robinson.
Exactly so it’s a totally useless line. When Necas isn’t going he brings absolutely nothing to the table and it’s been that way for over a month now and somethings gotta change cause it’s not nearly good enough

Yup soft as shit and it showed in the scrum at the end all I seen come in was Svech and burns while others stood and watched there best player get mauled by 2 Tampa guys. Can guarantee if it was the other way around all 5 Tampa guys would be jumping in there

Bolts played Thursday sat Sunday out west and then had to play tonight.

Even though canes had played bunch too, Bolts were primed for a loss given the west coast/compressed schedule.

Lots of mistakes tonight.

Now Thursday Friday Sunday afternoon. Not going to be pretty.
They lost 4 games in a row. The top teams in the league generally find a way to get themselves out of an L streak. We would fully expect the Canes to do the same, and they’d likely deliver.

Tampa’s not a top team in the league they’re barely holding onto a wild card spot and coming off losses to the sharks and ducks. They are a middle of the pack team this year

Agreed. Their road Florida win was a recipe for how they need to play. They were very physical; in fact, more so than any game they’ve had in quite some time.

It’s a bigger organizational issue though. They are always looking for “value” drafts and have been drafting small skilled players who have dropped due to their size. Tulsky likes to draft in his image I guess.

FWIW: League’s best teams have always had a big defense that keep you away form the middle.

Sharks and Ducks have been giving good teams a run for their money this season. Tampa is in a playoff position as it stands but there is a lot of season left. They finished last year in the WC, made the playoffs.

“Top team” for literal people is a bad way to phrase it, you’re right, but they’re still one of the top teams in terms of talent. Ebbs and flows. So many on this board freak out with these losses but don’t see the forest for the trees.

Tonight had loss written all over it. I called it well before the game.

I would love to see our GM be as aggressive as Colorado’s and St Louis’. Something is wrong, they deal with it. I know it’s hard to make trades with a hard cap, but where there’s a will, there’s a way. Number 2 Center! A decent goalie combo…. Get rid of #82!!!!
Vent is now complete until the next uninspiring game.(probably Thursday)

I hope Tulsky isn’t like Ron Francis, where he’s constantly looking for that perfect trade to pull the trigger on. We waited years for Francis to make an aggressive move and it never came.

I only caught the highlights of this one. Shame we couldn’t pull OT out of that but it didn’t seem like a disaster of a game. Pretty evenly matched and Tampa only won on a pretty insane falling down snipe in the last minute. Oh well

No, it wasn't a disaster of a game, even as annoyed as I am after watching it. But all three Tampa goals were scored from in close after the D is either a) roving somewhere else, or b) giving up the front of the net. The TB announcers called it on the two early TB goals: our D were "fronting" their forwards trying to block the incoming shot/pass, but if/when the puck gets through, essentially you've got two forwards in alone vs the goalie.

It was what's become a typical game for what is now a .500 team that's still dining out on a hot start to the season: high shot volume vs. low shot quality, and a "soft" defense that gives up a lot of space in the D zone far too often.

Really was impressed w/ the Blues and their offer sheets. Also the ability to trade players that wont sign as opposed to just letting them walk.

Im actaully pretty tired of watching this team at this point. I remember I went down in the basement to work on something at some point last night and my wife was like "you're not gonna watch?" My reply was something of the "why? The'll just f*** it up, blow it, whaetver and it will be disappointment when I could go finish that task."
She was like "were not going this year are we? Since like 2019 this will be the first year? - Not even on your B-day week?" "Nope. f*** them. Im not spending all that money to watch them not give a shit." Another year, only this time a boring season, barely .500, a first round out when we should just sell at the deadline than swing at 4-6 post season games."

So yeah. Probably the first year since 2019 I won't be going. Zero heart in this team. None.

Hey, but maybe this is the year they give less during the regular season so they can give more in the post season. 🤷‍♂️
