This game is very reminiscent to many season openers under Fox after the first Super Bowl appearance. It ain't pretty and the end result usually leads to a 7-9 record.

Rams are one of the best teams in the NFL but this is still a disappointing Panther performance. Saints aren't far behind the Rams either, so it looks like Wild Card will be our best bet, then we'll probably get smacked around again. Rivera and Hurney just need to GTFO already.

How long do we have to deal with the Panthers being unprepared for games, burning unnecessary timeouts, and relying on McCaffrey to do everything? I get so tired of it year after year.

I would not be surprised if Rivera is gone before the end of the year. This team just keeps slipping back ever since that Super Bowl run, and this season doesn't look to be any different. They got absolutely no pass rush at all yesterday. I know that they rushed 3 a lot, but man...

Rivera doesn't have any slack on the leash anymore. Tepper isn't going to sit around watching his new investment continue to slide backwards under the direction of people he didn't hire. Eventually, something is going to have to give. I listened to the radio yesterday and in the pregame they were basically saying "you look around the league and there are coaches that make teams better and make you plan for them. McVay is one of those coaches. Is Rivera? Honestly, no."

To hear that on the official pregame was damning

Goff had a lot of time and still missed a lot of throws. Fact is, I think the Panthers might have blitzed like once or twice yesterday. Also, Norv Turner, with the exception of the McCaffrey TD run off of the wildcat, is the most unimaginative OC in the league.

I've never been a Rivera fan, but gave him the benefit of the doubt when they had their good seasons. I won't be sad to see him go if it happens.
