read as: "well the next game sure as f*** doesn't matter so he won't be playing that one, but unless something goes wrong he's playing in the playoffs"

We were wondering that too. She was about to pass out drunk...That will make a story to tell the kids^ wouldn't you want to propose when your significant other is sober? Or is he worried she would say no if she had full cognition?
The game was disappointing to say the least. Afterward the game while leaving was interesting, some guy came up to my group and asked us to hold his phone so we could film him proposing to his very drunk girlfriend. then he dropped the ring. But at the end, the girl said yes.
Monday might as well = playoffs. That's the bottom line. They absolutely have to bring the playoff mentality.
While I want them to come out and win Mondays games is the least important game of the year. The absolutely dont have to bring anything. We have days off, guys getting healthy. What Nashville sees Monday will not be what the see in game one.
Nashville has less to play for than we do. Nashville's overall playoff seeding is set. If we don't get a point and Toronto beats the Sens and Jets in their last two games they'd take the overall #2 seed away from us. And if chalk wins out, that's who we'd be playing in the third round of the playoffs.
So what. The Canes along with Vegas [or possibly the Avs] and the Leafs have to make it out of the division for that to even matter. With the division being the first 2 rounds its more than likely no more then 1 or 2 division winners get out. There will be upsets.
Well, maybe it's just me, but I'd like to have home ice in as many series as possible. I'm not saying it's a must win game, or that you play anyone who's dinged up. But I don't believe that the game is the least important of the year, either. I think you play your healthy guys and that there should be incentive to win. Just my opinion, of course.
(added one clarification to your post above; if Canes lose in regulation and Avs get 4 points in their last 3 games both Vegas and Colorado would be seeded higher than the Canes)
I get that and like I said want them to win and Im sure they will play to win, but if they dont it wont matter much to the upcoming series with the Preds as we should get multiple guys back so they wont really be facing the same team and personally Im just not worried much about what this game means to a potential series more than a month away. Theres a lot of things that can change between now and then and to be honest in the playoffs you only have to win 1 road game to steal home ice and win a series. I just dont think it is that important.
We also don't want to go into a playoff series having just lost 2 in a row. I don't care if they ice an AHL squad, there are tangible reasons to win other than pts in the standings.
That only matter to fans. After a week off and some practice the team will be ready go for game one the same way regardless of how tonight turns out.
