If there is any doubt at all that we are sellers this weekend and next week it would hinge on this game. Lose, we start the firesale. Win, maybe we let the little hope live until the Sharks and Sabres games.
I don't think it'll make any difference, playing for .500 approaching game #60 isn't a great prospect for a playoff run.

It would just change the timeline and push the moves to the last minute maybe.

I think it is not good idea. Slafkovský is ideal to Caufield and Suzuki. They need a similar player, not a player with style like Laine.
Play them with Hutson and they will start to believe they are on the PP.

While I am a fan of Rantanen be real careful offering him 14 million or even north off 11 million. He may be a product of the players he played with.

Yeah, 2 players I'm really interested to see play tonight: Rantanen & Slafkovsky.

Rantanen to see if he's actually playing that bad? Or, maybe just a little unlucky? Carolina is a grind it out team & have never been a high scoring team. It could Rantanen would be fine under a less restrictive system. Guentzel was fine for them, though.

Also, Slafkovsky to see if he can come back with another game like he did against Ottawa. He needs to consistently take the bulls by the horns rather than waiting for someone else to do it. I think that's a bit of a mental block, maturity thing with him though.

Great I hope that's for a good portion of the game, not just a sheltered <10 minutes thing.

I like it mainly because while Newhook is the fastest skater on the team, Beck plays fast, as well. So I think he's more suitable to keep up with Newhook. Dach is more skilled than Beck and is a good skater, but he's not fast. I think Beck is more suitable to keep up with Newhook's speed.

Alt the same time, the other lines work well together, so it's also a way to keep the others intact.

We'll see how it goes.

Major ass kicking coming tonight (to the Habs). I give this game about 10 minutes and it’ll be over.

Very possible.

However, Canes have won 3 of their last 8 games since Rantanen. They're also the only playoff team that has a losing record on the road.

But despite that, the Habs haven't beaten the Canes since 2020. And they've beaten them twice since 2018. It's a team Habs struggle against.
