Rumor: Carolina looking to add top 6-9 forward

Yak seems like a decent candidate. Yak for Murphy has been discussed, but I think the Oil will wait until UFA period passes.

Also, why wouldn't the Canes just try and bring back Staal?

If you need a third line winger who can play center, is good defensively, and can fill in on 2nd line then Josh Bailey is your guy.

Murphy for Yak would be good for both sides.

Staal has no place on this team and is a shell of his prior to Edler wrecking his knee self.

If you're going to 69, being on the bottom is way better than the top.

And did the third post really say "shocker" with a straight face?

Dwight King can be had cheap. $1.9 for another year. Versatile and can easily play top 9 minutes. Kings need to shed that salary and his name has been brought up in trade rumors.

I think the forward would have to be significantly better than what they have in guys like Phil Di Giuseppe or Brock McGinn. I don't believe they are looking to fill the spot with a 30-40 point plug with no long-term future with the team.

Rick Nash would be a good fit. We'll take Saarela and next year's 2nd :)

Though it's more like a :shakehead

Carolina can add RNH+Eberle for Faulk

Any Faulk trade will be quality for quality. Top-20 D for a Top-20 Forward. RNH doesn't cut it here. For reference, the only player the Canes direct media (John Forslund) has off-the-cuff suggested in a Faulk deal would be Malkin. In Edmonton's case, Hall would be the centerpiece.
