I saw on NHL.com that the canes are last in the league in 1st period goals for and we are 2nd in 1st period goals against. Looks like getting off to a good start will be really important. Hopefully Eller comes out firing now that he is back in the top 9.

Even with a depleted line up I think we can win this.

Eller needs more quality ice time with decent linemates in order to develop. At least give the man more PP minutes.

Not entirely sure about the info, but the line-up at practice were:

Bourque–Plekanec-Gionta
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole
Galchenyuk–Eller-Prust
Moen–White-Armstrong

meh, I feel like Galchenyuk deserved that center position the way he's been playing...

The Canes are really leaning on their top line to carry the load so I hope Subban and Gorges are paired up to shut them down. It might make sense to spread the wealth when we are playing against teams with good depth, but I don't really trust any of the pairings we have been using to shut down the E. Staal line the way they have been playing.

I got mine off TSN Ice Clips. But even then I am not sure how good that info is

The only thing that worries me is Cam Ward, if he's on his game, we could get shut out pretty easily, otherwise I say a close 3-2 win.

Someone had a good post in the DD thread about how despite galchenyuk playing very well for an 18/19 year old in the NHL, he still hasn't been incredibly effective. He's getting easy assignments and his line regularly looks lost in the defensive zone. Swapping eller into the center position makes for a better habs team.

Galchenyuk is groomed to be our Number 1 Center. The best way is to put him at center for Number 3 line and slowly move him up. This would be better for the Habs long term.
