Wait, because he hasn't hit 40 points (39 two years in a row is soo far off of 40) on an offensively inept team, his development is over at 21 and he has no chance of being a premier forward? Huh, good to know.

I don't understand taking offence to my post. I mean, how many players start off scoring just under .5 ppg for the first three seasons and then turn into 70+ point players?

Did I somewhere say 'lol Lindholm is garbage'?

Second line, low end first is still a good player, but right now there's a 30 point difference, and one was a top ten scorer last season.

To whoever said Gaudreau is our best player, he's not, Brodie is.

In fairness, the first 3 seasons after his draft, Gaudreau wasn't even in the NHL so he had the time to develop properly where-as Lindholm was thrown right into the NHL. Gaudreau's first NHL season was the 4th season after his draft and this coming season will be the 4th season after Lindholm's draft. Honestly, Lindholm should have never been in the NHL his 1st season as he clearly wasn't ready and Rutherford rushed him, as he likes to do. Should have left him in Sweden to develop for 1, maybe 2 years.

That said, last year, Lindholm did not take a step forward in development that you like to see from players and unless he makes strides this year, I don't see him becoming what everybody had hoped he would become when drafted. Even if he does, I don't see him being on Gaudreau's level as 70 points is becoming some rare air these days.

No reason for Calgary to do what the OP suggested. Too much risk of what Lindholm and Aho "might" become vs. what Gaudreau actually is.

Seriously as a Flames fan, I would go to Ana and take Hampus, before deciding to do this trade, Aho is a B+/A prospect, while Elias* is a 2nd line forward(I could of sworn I seen E. Lindholm + 1st for Monahan earlier like 4 months ago? I can't remember when... And now instead of the 1st it's Aho? For Johnny freaking Hockey! A few broadcasters have said he almost is P. Kane, plays similar to P. Kane, he goes 64 points in 81 games? Then 78 in 79 games? And that's an offer?

There's a very short list of players I would be happy with if Gaudreau can't be re-signed to a reasonable deal that the Flames like. Lindholm is not near that list.

Im curious to see what that list is. I'm hoping we get him signed or get good value for him but I couldn't even tell you unless it's considered an overpayment.

I just want to add this, as a Canes fan.

Canes take this and run. We could afford $8M. JG is far, far better of a hockey player right now than Lindholm and Aho, and I'd be surprised if the combined value of the latter to exceed Johnny Hockey. I'd hate giving up two of our best assets, but this would be to get one of the best assets in the entire NHL.

These threads are pointless. The Calgary Flames are not going to trade Gaudreau. It is not happening. Can't wait until he puts pen to paper so these stop.

Not sure why everyone is so eager for Gaudreau, I get he had a great production vs the league last season but it was a down year for most.

Small points monkey winger on a non playoff team that wants a giant contract? More of a luxury piece than a cornerstone.
